add an amp
I have added Infinity speakers and that did improve the sound but I think I would like more, both quality and volume. I've been told it is simple enough to add an amp and the new speakers would be able to handle the more power. So I see amps for sale between 60 and 160 bucks. Any suggestions for what I need? 2 channel or 4 channel, I'm lost? This has got to be a budget upgrade not a new total system. Thoughts welcome.

Would like to see those ideas also.

I am using the USB in saddle bag with settings at “low” for SRS and “mid” on AVL. Bass is flat and treble half up. I ride at volume 15 and it is blaring loud at speed after the volume raises with the stock speakers. It is medium at idle. Bass is strong and solid and treble is sharp and crisp. Raising the volume to 18 is about same level at speed with the “AVL”. I have stock GL1800 exhaust which is silent at speed with radio off.

The possibilities are multiple. The unknowns are vast. The expense keeps going up. Aftermarket amp failure is common. Possible problems to be encountered are endless. My stock radio with aftermarket speakers is sounding better and better to me.

I am interested in adding amp also, and help much appreiciated.

PM me your email address'.
Also take the time to read jimmie t's sticky thread on his adventure into aftermarket stereo gear.
I don't know if the search functionality has been restored, but try searching for amps or speakers. This has been done many,
many times in the past.

FWIW, Biketronics make nice, strong, clean amps that have a lifetime guarantee, but they are not cheap.
