Newbie...just upgraded from 750 Shadow
Just a quick introduction...
Been riding for about 2 years, after getting the bug on a summer trip to Chincoteague Island, VA, where we rented scooters. Came home and immediately spied a Honda Reflex 250 scooter for sale locally. After learning the ropes a bit on it, I bought a 2013 Honda Shadow Phantom in November of 13. Put about 10,500 miles on it in the past year and a half, including an 1,800 mile solo trip from south Georgia up through the mountains and ultimately, to Gettysburg. Anyhow...loved my little bike and the nimbleness of it, but wanted something bigger. First spied the F6B at a local bike show back in March, and wanted one. Hadn't thought much else about it until weekend before last (5/30)...my riding club & I stopped in at a new Honda shop about 50 miles from home in Tifton, GA. I sat on it and was immediately hooked. Long story short, I went back in 2 days later (Monday 6/1) and traded my Phantom for a 2015 Deluxe, flat gray (I have no clue what the technical name for the color is).
So far, I've only put about 300 miles on it, with 205 of those coming this past Saturday on a meet & eat ride some of us did. First impression...WOW! The power is just absurd! On my previous bike, passing a car took planning. Had to downshift, make sure I had plenty of clearance, etc. On this bike...ha! Just twist and hang on. On our ride Saturday, I had to test it a bit. After riding near the back of a pack of about 10 bikes doing 50 - 55...I hit a passing lane. A buddy (riding a 1500 wing) and I pulled out and opened them up. At 105 I let off, simply because the bike wasn't easing off accelerating at all. It scares me to think what it would do...but it sure is nice to know I have enough umph to actually get out of the way if I need to.
Anyhow...just wanted to introduce myself. See y'all around the forum.
