Did they email you a receipt when you first made the reservation? Bring it. they normally charge for the first night in advance.

I may be able to help you out there, as I'm about 85-90% sure I'm going to bail. Central Texas has this little thing called Harvey hanging over us, and the forecast to get out of here early this week while staying dry doesn't look good. I'll ride in rain, but prefer the kind that is a possibility, not a probability, or in this case, a certainty.
Thanks Jeff
Keep me posted. My preference would be for the Vacation Lodge to fix this and Harvey to leave town and we meet in Pigeon Forge. I found my Confirmation email. They found my reservation on the old computer. They are overbooked. They are running credit cards looking for one to decline so they can boot a reservation out and insert mine.
Dana
What a class outfit that is. :icon_rolleyes: Holy chit.
I called and confirmed (later) and have receipt in hand... If I arrive and there's NOT A ROOM FOR ME.. THEY BE BEST LAYING OUT MY ROOM IN THE LOBBY. :shhh:
Ya'll can buy me a drink, as you traipses to your reserved rooms past me; whilst I'm laid out in the lobby. :icon_mrgreen:
Thanks Bunny!
I started a new thread in the Trips section for the 2018 Rally Location.
Looking for any meaningful, coherent, input that involves easy accommodations, no passports, great riding, and transportation that will NOT get delayed if the port closes while that 3d world country decides to have a coup!
Steve
Add me to the list! I will be there. Looking forward to it.
Dana, what is your last name? After checking the National Weather Service map for the week, I'm going to cancel my room this morning. I'm 0-2 on planned trips to the Smokies this year, due to torrential rain, but my situation is a minor inconvenience, compared to that hitting the folks in Houston.
https://graphical.weather.gov/sectors/conus.php#tabs
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought that...
Well, even after waiting to nearly the last minute, I still have to cancel. I have several deadlines here at work I was hoping to get well positioned for prior to leaving, but that looks like it's not going to happen. I've never been the type who "lives to work", or even one who believes anybody should be like that, but this project has been my baby for the past 10 months and I need to keep the momentum rolling.
Anyway, I swear I'm cursed in my ability to make it to our Rally. Disappointed I'll miss out on great riding and making new friends, but I hope everyone has a spectacular and safe time! I canceled my Vacation Lodge reservations moments ago, but as others have said, it sounds like they're over-booked to begin with but might not hurt to try.
As a Cleveland sports fan I am used to the saying "There's always next year!" that I'll make it to the rally. Ride safe!
Thank you Steve, appreciate all you and everyone else does to keep this place around. Not being able to go this year stings a bit more than previous years for whatever reason.
"...schedule the next Rally in Cleveland..." Yeah, I wouldn't let you do this anyway. :icon_wink:
Okay, thx for letting me know. I just cancelled, so there is a room available, for anyone that wants to go, but has not been able to make reservations. NOTE: This room is not part of the rally block, as I made the reservation after all of them were taken up. The bad thing is that the rates may be higher, the good thing is that my cancellation fee was only 15% of the first night, not the whole first night. The lady that answered the phone said they may waive that, due to the reason for my cancellation, (Harvey), so that's nice.
Rubber side down, folks, maybe next year!
Well, I hate to tell everyone this way but I'm still coming :shhh:. Really looking forward to seeing everyone again!
There have been at least 5 cancellations from this group today alone for the Vacation Lodge because of the weather forecast.
If anyone wants a room there should be no problem.
Wow. I'm hoping there's more to it than just weather.
I know of a few people who have PM'd me about some personal issues that will prevent them from coming.
Remember, the most motivating thing at a specific bike rally is seeing all the bikes and what has been done to/with them.
Lighting
Stereo
Fiberglass work
Controls
And even name badges
And perhaps we'll be able to tell who has the best wax from all the beading..... :icon_mrgreen:
The most rewarding thing at a bike Rally is the camaraderie time under the tent.
This is paramount to any community of like minded persons.
Putting names with faces, voice tones with words, inflections & mannerisms - or lack thereof!
It's all goodness because we are all on two wheels, and those 2 wheels are attached to......."the best bike ever."
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
Steve
Elroy,
I KNOW you did not cancel 'lightly.'
In fact - no one makes plans and cancels them 'happily.'
This was not aimed at you or anyone in particular - we all MUST ride our own ride and I respect that.
Takes more 'steel' to publicly cancel than not.
We've got a few inclement weather activities planned and we're gonna have good time - rain or shine.
Speaking of 'shine, maybe JimmyTee can bring some of that Kentucky Bourbon with him.....I'm a scotch guy, but that's starting to sound tasty.
Cheers,
Steve
i'm riding to my brother's place in NC. i may stop/stay wednesday night for a "brief" hello and bug out east thursday morning.
i don't know where i will spend the night yet, but then again, i never make plans that far in advance, lol.
ride safe,
steve
oh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, hambly and bowhunter, look for me on your travels, lol
We have talked to multiple people today and yes we are going to have a great rally.
Because of the possibility of spending a little more time socializing for a morning or so and a few recent requests we are bringing the trailer down.
We put in one or two of quite a few things that you can look at and purchase or even install. We have the roller box in with tools also.
Teresa is not coming so it will be a little different, we are going to be a slight more efficient and a lot less stuff. Just bike items. She would like to see everyone but has other plans and we are coming back down in just a few weeks for another rally.
If there is anything you want from our web site you will have to let us know by tomorrow evening.
Looking forward to seeing and riding with everyone again.
Rick
:039:
In Kennesaw, Georgia right now.... waiting on night to turn into day so I can go to Traxxion Dynamics in Woodstock, and get the front end reworked/improved.
Atlanta traffic is hell on earth. "fireybat" I've never seen anything quite like it.
An idea for a group activity.
Group bike wash...........
In rain gear?
All Rally Attendees,
I want all of you to know that Rick from Value Accessories has been a significant F6B Forum Rally coordinating team member for a few years and has been instrumental in the 2017 Rally planning:
- He helped Phantom find this venue when everything else Phantom tried was falling through
- He and his son volunteered to be ride Captains for us and have got several routes in this area as they have done this "Pigeon Forge Rally Thing" a few times before - we'll call it occupational hazard! :icon_mrgreen:
- When the weather started looking unpredictable, he volunteered to bring his ginormous trailer and tool box so we could fruitfully occupy any weather delays
- As many of you are experiencing, he is bringing parts and accessories for you to the Rally, plus some really cool door prizes
http://hondaf6b.com/showthread.php?1...s-Pigeon-Forge
- And, just like the Rally two years ago, he is going assist with installation on site as time permits, and, given his work ethic, probably often into the wee hours - just like 2 years ago
I know we all appreciate someone who loves the F6B as much as we do, and has installed dang near every accessory available on his bike already - the know-how is there.
Rick often posts in threads where expertise is needed, and not necessarily if the part in question came from him.
He is a true friend & supporter of the Forum and I know Phantom is happy to have him as one of our most valued sponsors.
Please stop by his trailer this week, meet Rick and his son, and put the face with the name.
And say thanks for all the help and support for the Forum and the Rally.
Cheers,
Steve

We are departing Central Florida this morning with the bike (Clifford) on the trailer heading north and we plan to arrive on Wednesday afternoon. The best part about the weather is that it changes, and most often for the best. I plan events for a living, many outdoor, and I want to say Thank You to everyone that has had a hand in putting this together. We look forward to meeting the group in PF! -Steve & Stephanie
I'm ready but embarrassed!
http://imgur.com/UJm0iRh
I'll be there tomorrow afternoon or early evening, depending on how adventurous I am with the back roads down.
Whatever it takes. :shhh:
You get a pass on that... with your recent Bionic man knee surgery. :icon_wink:
I'm sitting here in my hotel room watching the weather progress (from Hurricane Harvey's residual fallout/spinoff), gonna possibly be a little wet getting out of here so am getting ready to break out the wet weather contingency plan B gear.
We all know that motorcycling will sporadically involve unplanned for inclement weather. Nature of the beast. :shhh:
I wonder how Ixol Phaane is doing... he's riding through all of that crap coming from Phoenix. Best wishes for him as he hopefully skirts some of it.
Hey Dave... if your reading this thread... you are going to have to take a mandatory motorcycle detour as you come down I-81, the town is Buchanan I think. Be careful of the speed limit through that town.. it's like 25mph and there's a local cop that will tail you. He did it to me.
Town must not get a lot of action. :icon_rolleyes:
