Watch for that stuff in the road

Watch out forstuff in the road.
I am thanking God for watching oout for me.
Going to Indy from Dayton I hit something of good size in the dark
eary morning. Bike hit what ever and jumped it. Thank God for belly pan.
Only thing is it bent my shifter so it,s a pain trying to shift now, but can do it.
I am on my way to Montana so this is just part of what happens on trips.
will see if I can get it repaired after I get to Billings.
Man I have to tell you this bike is so smooth running at 75 mph.
I don,t use my speakers but I bet I could rather that my blue tooth hook up.
So just keep your eyes pealed out there brothers, don,t want to lose anybody because
of somebody else failing to remove s"·$% from the highway.

I will doy best to watch for that crap.
Got hold of Billings Honda.
Check this out, they said they have a 2013
just sitting around they offered to order one and use one off of it.
I bet I will get charged for removal and install.
But I guess that is fair.

Most dealers I have worked with have been willing to do something like that. Glad to hear you have options.

Small dealers are great to work with.

My boat had a dead battery without me knowing it, because I left the running lights on during the day and didn't see they were illuminated.

The dealer I had a ramp pass at said "take a battery off my shelf, and we will charge yours while you are out." Gotta love that kinda service.

What happened to you is part of the risk of motorcycling.

One thing that drives me insane is when local highway departments use crushed stone (#1?) to resurface roads. Until it is packed down (usually takes several days), it is practically a death wish for riders if an evasive maneuver is required.

We call that "chip seal" around here, and they do it EVERYWHERE! So many roads have had it done around me lately, and not just short roads or short sections. Needless to say my B has been "grounded" for at least a week. I cringe thinking of that chip bouncing up and hit everything possible on my bike. Truck is dirty and dusty as all get out though.

Hey Shortleg,is your bike blue? I saw a blue f6b on I94 in Montana Saturday on my way home to mn from st Anthony Idaho.

No not me I took 90 all the way to Billings.
funny with only a piece of a shifter I get myself into 5th bfore I get inti the highway

Glad you made out ok. Things that go bump in the dark can be nefarious :shhh:

Now to continue the story or the aftermath. To let you know what is needed to repair said shifter.
Pull mangled belly pan, lower front fascia and fascia covering exhaust.
Now the agony of pulling left side exhaust to get to shifter.
Yes you have to remove it because you can not get it out from behind the exhaust.
Then takes 2 1/2 min to replace shifter, then all you have to do is replace all the crap you
had to take off. OH, what a strange trip it has been.
But all and all it was a great trip to Montane.
