I still have my VTX1800F but have never had the pleasure of riding the Valkrie.
I have the Madstad and luv it. Once you adjust it for you it's amazing how much wind it defects. There are also wind deflectors for the sides and plugs for around your forks. I use a waterproof bag...
Ditto for the saddlebags and the tech. I also despise the fact they made the fuel tank smaller. I like the overall looks but cutting my range doesn't work for me. Definitely better tech then my 15...
A lot of full wing riders have had that attitude from long before the F6B.
Very sad to hear, I was at the Cortez Rally and met him there.
I took it in as new tires were needed. She got a clean bill of health after her 36k servicing, and no issues were found. Hopefully she holds together for a few more weeks.
I know I know, ghost thread on ghost shifting revived by a ghost member.... Anyway, I'm having a similar issue with my 15. I'm TDY in SoCal and rode her down from the PNW with no issues. One morning...
On my return trip from San Diego I did an Iron Butt and pretty well stayed 85-90 from Bakersfield to Tacoma aside from the nasty bit in the Siskiyou's. I stayed in the low 30's for mpg. It was also...
Ditto, I wasn't sure of the exact rpm but over 4k and my mileage drops to low thirties. At the rally riding two up I was getting 50+ but we were riding much more sedate than I do solo.
I've been to Japan several times and honestly do not ever recall seeing a pothole on a paved road :)
For amusement I'll keep an eye out when I go back in January
I can enjoy their products and not their ideology. I have friends the same way, I enjoy their company up until ideology comes up then I'm done. I enjoy the "Symbology" of HD but their products are...
+1 I love my Mezzlers however, if you do not watch the air pressure they will wear funny fairly quickly. Also double check you guage to ensure accuracy. I recently discovered that one of my tire...
My B gets winter nap this year as I'll be TDY far far away for a bit.
Years ago I had one run out of a field in front of me in a hairpin corner. I "missed" the deer but later when talking to my friends about the close call we found fur on my rear turn signal...A wee to...
Information like this that people post is one of the things I love about this board. I'm continually amazed and further educated by the knowledge that is shared here.
Haven't seen any 4 legged dear here in SoCal, plenty of 2 legged does tho....Maybe when I head back north in a few months. 9k+ plus miles on the B so far this year, another 1500 or so on the other...
Honestly it may not matter on most newer fuel injected vehicles, however my personal experience has been better performance with higher octane ratings on my older vehicles. I'm more brand specific...
I run Chevron 91 almost exclusively. I don't much care what our manuals say as my piece of mind is preserved by running higher grades of fuel. I stick with Chevron for consistency/quality.
I run my Mezzlers at 40/42. The more they wear the better they seem to hold the road, however they seem deform rapidly if you don't keep on top of the tire pressure.
