Enjoy your trip Dave! New adventure.

They say that back in the day; the Vikings misnamed Greenland; in order to keep Iceland all to themselves. They are supposed to be quite the opposite of each other...

I have been to Iceland and it is an amazingly beautiful and incredibly rugged country. The people are extremely friendly and in fact are one of the most educated people in the world. I believe they have the oldest known parliament, and they place a huge value on education. there is nothing more amazing than sitting in a public and very large hot tub in the middle of a snowstorm.

oh and don't forget to go to the Icelandic phallic Museum http://phallus.is/en/

Their native language is akin to several cats dying a slow painful death.
    Other than that, it's gorgeous!

    First impression of Iceland

Well if not for the 26 degree and the snow, it reminds me of the big
Island of Hawaii. I guess that makes sense since both these islands Ã-re nothing but
tender boxes just looking for a reason to blow their tops.
Back on the big Island of Hawaii and here on Iceland you will see the what I call grasses covering
the black volcanic soil. To this day it blows my mind how the Vikings came to love and run a vibrant land.
It is true that this a small country and some of the friendliest people I have met, they seem to
go out of their way to help this old couple.
Going to the Bluend Lagoon here soon. will let you know what I think.

Was thinking of taking the trip. Everything every one's written I read to be true. But you all left something out important. That is food! I heard food takes getting used to. Heard they closed the last McDonalds too!

What's different and/or unique about the food over there?
