Will I Live to See 85?

I recently picked a new Primary Care Doctor.
After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing fairly well for my age.
A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him…,
“Do you think I'll live to be 85?”

He asked; 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer, wine or hard liquor?'
    'Oh no,' I replied.
    'I'm not doing drugs, either!'
Then he asked, 'Do you eat ribeye steaks and barbecued ribs?'
'I said, 'Not much. My former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!'
'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, boating, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?'
    'No, I don't,' I said.

He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?'
    'No,' I said.
He looked at me and said…,

'Then why do you even give a shit?'

The guy who invented the first wheel was an idiot -
the guy who invented the second one... he was the genius!

    Live like there's no tomorrow.

    Expect to live forever.

I did that in the late 70's early 80's so I'd have great memories of my partying days in my later years...except I can't remember anything. All I can say is thank God there were no cell phones taking videos. One thing I do remember, getting thrown in the county jail in Dunn, N.C. with my dog for what I can't recall, it'll come to me eventually...maybe.

Ah the pokey. Yea... been there... done that... back in the day

I'm a kinder, gentler, more responsible individual these days. Military sure took the piss outta my early adventures.

    Fear is temporary.
    Regret is permanent.
