Luggage Rack Alternatives?

I have an MP3 rack and the finish is shit, plastic caps didn't fit, not worth the $ I paid. I took it off, flatten it out in my shop and use it as a mount for my trunk bag. Now the crappy finish is under the razor trunk bag and I don't have to look at it. Repainting a rear rack every year is stupid.

Yeah, I experienced the same, had it sand blasted then powder coated gloss black.
The plastic caps I got also didn't fit.

I ended up doing the fab work for my own rack. Built to accept Harley tour pack mounts. We even went so far as to cad design our own tour pack mount to sit lower to the f6b body work. Almost done.
