Took my wife for a ride for the first time ever. She is petite and about 5'2". If she sits back against the backrest it seems to far back. What are the options (if any) to move the backrest forward maybe an inch or two?

Stock? You could make an adjustable bracket pretty easily. There are only 2 bolts holding it on. I'd have to look but I think a piece of flat plate with 4 holes spaced where you want would work.
I just made a new riser for my passenger backrest to lift it up some for the wife to feel more comfortable.
There is absolutely no reason you couldnt make one that pushed the rest forward to fit her better.
I used a piece of .25 steel i had laying around. Got the width right and drilled the holes. I used my press brake to make the 90* bend. It could easily been less angle to bring the rest forward or put an additional bend up higher to do the same thing.

I made a piece to raise it a couple of inches (not enough to look like ET ) and tilt it forward some.
