    It comes down to this:
It used to be that you were told never to talk to strangers and never get into a stranger's car. Now, you are supposed to call a stranger and get in their car. (Uber)

Socialism used to be the boogie man - think McCarthy hearings. Now, millennials are demanding socialism.

Everything is ass-backwards in this country nowadays.
If you are not part of the solution, YOU are the problem.

Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty.

You can bitch about everything in the state of this country...

...but it does come down to this:

Adapt and overcome. On a grand scale it is not going to change.

Sorry if I pissed in some of your Wheaties... but it is what it is.

    * I always loved what I think is attributed to Maggi Thatcher about Socialism.
It works until they run out of everybody else's money.
I keep asking what the heck is this Fair Share thing that is thrown about.
They keep yelling that the upper class should pay their Fair Share, but they never
    say what that is.
And who is going to determine what that is?

A flat tax is where we should be at. For example; 10 percent of everyone's income. No deductions, no write-offs, period. Applicable to everyone, regardless of their wealth; or lack thereof...

    Will,
There can never be a flat tax because it would violate the apportionment provisions of the Constitution, Article 1, Section 9, Clause 4. Basically a direct tax by the government, as a flat tax would be, would have to be apportioned, Steve Forbes knew this as he's been blowing that horn for years. He just used it as a campaign pitch while his high priced lawyers knew it was BS. I got into debate years ago with one of his campaign managers while holding a copy of the Constitution in my hand and asked to point out where in the document does it allow a direct, unapportioned tax and he just took the booklet, threw it on the floor and walked away. The only Direct, unapportioned Tax you pay, in violation of the Constitution, is the Witholding Tax, however, your employer's way out of that is to say you "voluntarily" filled out your W-4.

Don't get me wrong a flat tax would be fine with me, but, there should be a cap on the rate of increase. I would require not just a majority but a super majority to raise that rate. As we know the low life politicians spend $ faster than the Federal Reserve can print it but in order to get that tax implemented there would have to be a Constitutional Convention and we DON'T want that as they would use that for an excuse to eliminate the right to bear arms clause in the Bill of Rights.

Why Owen Lattimore wasn't a Communist? What about Harry White? Or the over 2000 government employees in the government that lost their jobs as result of the hearings? The Venona intercepts which proved without a doubt that a number of high-ranking U.S. government officials consciously maintained a clandestine relationship with Soviet intelligence agencies.

Think a few are confusing communism and socialism, they are not interchangeable.
