    air temp indicator

Last Christmas my wife bought me the heated Gerbing jacket, pants, gloves and socks because I like to ride year round if the roads are dry. Have ridden for a few hours at 4 degrees Fahrenheit without issues. Just noticed today that my 2013 F6B's Air Temp Indicator will not show temps below 10 degrees.
At anything below 10 degrees the display just flashes "_ _ _".
    Anybody else notice this?

Yes ... that's normal. You are riding in weather out of range for the ambient temp sensor.

Thanks for clearing this up for me.
Guess the air temp does't matter as much as the wind chill anyway!

You will notice over at the bottom of the icon there is a picture of a snowmobile when it gets that cold out-
Is it trying to tell you something?

    for those braving the cold

I do OK with lower temperatures than some of my friends but the city throws down so much salt that I don't want to get it all over my bike and heaven forbid into the electrical connections. I live in an apartment and have underground parking and would love to go out for a spin from time to time. No hose to rinse off the salt after a ride.

Do they only put down sand in your part of the world?

They use calcium chloride pellets and liquid and plenty of sand. Sand doesn't work at all at zero and below though. In any case it eats the he11 out of you machine. Needless to say the road is really exciting with sand on it!

When I went out this morning for my daily "coffee run", the thermometer in my car indicated an outside temp of -12*. Don't know what the one on the "6" read, but I didn't care much either.
