For practicality purposes; up to 112 mph is plenty fast for a Goldwing. There's no point in keeping a sustained 112+ mph on one...

Maybe in Maryland you don’t have a place to run. Get out west and it’s a whole different animal.

No need to run above 112 for a lengthy basis to enjoy the thrill of speeds higher than that. I've had this B up to top end a couple of times and it is smooth as silk, the limiter kicks in softly to stop your climb and the whole thing did not feel dangerous at all. If the bike is capable and it is safe enough and you want to accept the risk no one should tell you that you can't do it or decide for you what is reasonable. Grandma thinks 55 is the right top end speed, glad she is not the head of the speed limiter dept.
I have a 13 and I've been able to keep the bike at 123-125 until the limiter kicks in. Maybe my bike had the mod done already and I didn't know?

That is what the pre 2018s will do.

My guess is that being 80-90 lbs lighter with more hp and torque, less wind drag than previous 1800s the new 1833 Wing would have out run, may be run circles around our old out dated 1800s. Some where after the 01 Wing Honda changed to larger radiator and fans. Honda it seems may have repeated the same first year model foe paws again.
Edit:The new Wings fans now blow out the sides rather than forward out the front as the old 1800s did.

I had a 10' CBR 600, at 150 it was pretty scary: smashed face into the tank with so much wind that if you moved it would pry your body off the bike and you also tunnel vision. That being said, the distance that you actually went that fast was not very far. Now I enjoy passing sport bikes and maintaining speed for a prolonged distance, in comfort, with music playing, legs on the highway bars...and watching them scrunched down staying out of the wind
