I've had the howl from the "Stones" as they wear, but the sound never bothers me. Just figure the machine is singing to me. I always ride with earplugs and a full face helmet, so , any tire noise is minimal to me.

My front tire was howling in corners so I changed it along with the worn out back.
They had 12,500 miles no them. The front had another thou or 2 left.
So I put tunnel filters up front and that helped some with the noise.
The front now has 4k on it and howling a bit. I also put mono tube shocks in front so will see how that changes the tire ware.
Went DS on the back and loving it.
ITS ALL GOOD
My front 'Stone would howl about 16k. I think she was saying "please replace soon!"
But since the Traxxion upgrade - my tire wear has been so even that I don't get the howling anymore.
Avons & Metzler seem to be the tertiary choices after Bridgestone & E4.
They are both a softer compound and may not wear as long as the other 2, but in the "smiles per miles" category" they'll get you grinning!
Cheers,
Steve

Yeah, Bridgestone is a good overall value. Others do certain things better, but Bridgestones seem to be decent at everything. Plus, you can usually get a set on sale with a rebate for $240-270 each year!

Who is Steve?? Metzeler 888 on the front. Dark on the rear. I like the Metz. They really stick for me. For my part that's what's important on the front.

None for me either until this Cobra got about 50% tread left. The Stones wear evenly for me so it is not the bike.
Air pressure is so critical. I never ride until I check the air. Max air in that front one all the time. The Metz wears good at that pressure.
Going back to Stones next week. Elite 4, though I have about 15K miles on 'em, didn't like 'em all that much. They track everything on the road (fwy rain grooves, tar snakes, etc) IMO. And, I took a 6 wk 11K ride on the Elites. Looking forward to the Stones again.
That's my .02
