The trick is to get the cardboard in those rounded corners and odd profiles. My guess is its easier to take a soft material, get the template then transfer it to cardboard.

Use aluminum foil to make a template and transfer same to a old vinyl table cloth! Once complete the templates can be folded in thirds and easily mailed
