On insurance, there's a lot of variability on where you live, how crowded it is, whether your state is a helmet law state (rates are somewhat lower in that case). That's why they always ask for your zip code when providing a quote.

I just paid my Progressive for the year, and out here in California I have to pay $1,350. The 650 Yamaha V-star is $405 for 12 months.

Now I AM going to call them to verify that this is an F6B, not a GW tomorrow. Thanks for the head's up on that.

It costs me more to insure my trike than it does to insure my new Audi S5 Coupe!! It's worth at least half the value of the car, but I think they just pull the numbers out of a hat. My renewal is in Aug, but I'll be doing a lot more searching when it comes to buy some new insurance.

I pay about $565 a year in Michigan with State Farm....It is next to impossible to determine quotes on this site because there are just too many variables from location to location...Driving record, age, population in area, credit rating BS, and such...Insurance companies are for the most part, just big "rip-offs" making huge profits and rates are all over the map!!!!

I had Progressive but when I went to change my coverage from the Road Star to the F6B, I was told I would have to pay an additional $330.00 per year. That put me up around $880.00. 61 years old with no accidents on any vehicle. I switched to Geico and got a yearly rate of $581.00 but I noticed my policy went from 100/300,000 to 30/60,000.00.
