(My department buys me a pair every year, which is cool too).

In the past I've always worn Black Leather, Lace up, steel Toe, paratrooper look, waterproof, wildland fire fighting boots.
They just are too big to comfortably get in around the f6b's shifter.

But the bates are not waterproof or water resistant, not even close.

considered buying a true road riding boot..
I wear Bates Escalante riding boots. Love em. You can find them on Amazon and I'm sure a million other places. I'd post a link but not sure if that's allowed. Anyway, black boots, inside zippers with flap, waterproof (as much as something with a zipper can be), and crazy comfortable.

I wear a pair of Alpinestars CR-4 Goretex, they are my everyday boot too because I am too lazy to change when I get to work. They are comfy and have held up just fine for the 10 months I have had them. I was going to go with a full height boot but nothing fits my calves. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/a...e-tex-xcr-boot

All those fancy riding boots never come big enough for me.
So I end up getting Red Wing boots and they don't get hot and are fairly water resistant.

I've been using an old pair of ICON chukka biker boots that I also used on and off for about ten years on my VTX1300C.
No problem at all with shifting the F6B. In fact, it was a bit tougher to get my toe under the shifter on the VTX (I adjusted the shifter on that a bit, shortly after I purchased it).
I also have a basic pair of Stanley steel toe that I often used on the VTX, but haven't bothered to use them with the F6B yet.

Used to be Timberlands till I got the 6.

    For ventilation you can feel:

Pretty thin soles, so I wouldn't want to hike Everest in 'em,,,

Good protection,,, Somewhere between a shoe and a riding boot,,,

    I'm 12 D /12 E and they fit fine!

I have a pair of Bates Escalante boots too and they are excellent. Very comfortable on and off the bike and waterproof as you said. I wear them anytime I think I may get caught in the rain and when I take multi-day trips.

+1 on the Double-H Road Warrior 10" Harness boots.
Mine are so old and comfortable I'd be afraid to try to replace them.

I used the kuryakan dropped mini boards and did a little grinding on the lower right frame area and moved the shifter up a spline...if you pull it apart you will see where it hits and you will just need to massage it with a grinder. very easy and much more room for your boot under the shifter. works perfectly now

Yup, most riding shoes /boots have no style and are ghastly looking.

Here are mine. Green laces and all.....
