I have had Ultimate Seats on my motorcycles pretty much since Des has been in business. All of those bikes got wet from time to time and never had an issue at all with the seat foam being wet after the next day at the latest. I can appreciate people having concerns about it but for me it has been a non issue in over 16 years of actual use.
Of course it is best practice that you use the rain covers but the chance of it getting wet without one and having a big problem is quite minimal in my experience.

Anyone know what the current lead time is for an Ultimate Seat? Have a 4,200mi trip planned for mid-July and debating getting a seat.

Anyone with an Ultimate King in the Hickory/WinstonSalem/Greensboro/Charlotte/Chapel Hill, NC area?

I'd like to sit on one for a few minutes before I take the plunge.

(yes, I know...they have a nice return policy. But why jump through hoops if you don't have to?)

She is mounted and ready for her maiden trip tomorrow AM to work. Wish I would have had it for the trip over to New Braunfels, my azz was really aching bad with the stocker and beads. I mean to the point of 'screw this I don't like riding this bike more than two hours'. I might like going to work tokorrow.

I know what you mean about the azz ache. Friday rode from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. One stop of about 45 minutes. My butt was still happy. Every time I climb on I'm thankful that the Good Lord let me save up enough money for that baby. Dang she looks good too.

OK, that's two weeks with the King. I like sitting in the seat. The King definitely accomplishes that. I can't go flat footed anymore, no big deal. It is comfortable, but I have only managed daily commuter trips to work or here and there. It may be September before I get another chance for a long ride to report any deadbuttiotisness. I don't have enough days off for my September anniversary trip and the Russelville trip. So, I have to work everyday conserving my days off. But for now I give the King a big thumbs up.

You might find over time that the seat drops you down just a little as it breaks in.

Wifey loved the King. First ride in a bit but she loved it. Put about 3 hours riding in and she was quite content.

Ive just unboxed mine, got to put it on. Good to know the passenger is happy. No croc inlays on mine but looks cool. I did get the backrest for me and raincover for washing her.
