If cruise is off you turn it on then set the speed. But if you never turn it off a step is eliminated. Is there a disadvantage in not leaving the cruise turned on all the time?

I have 40K miles on my bike, I usually leave the cruise on all the time, the only disadvantage would be the bulb burning out. So every once in a while I turn it off. But I usually ride with cruise on most of the time anyway.
Mine has been on for most of 20,000 miles with no problem.
