First let me say I have no dog in this fight, I'm not a Democrat, Republican or anything else, was a Conservative till about 10 years ago. Here is a statistic that will clear things up ... a little. While 0.6 percent of the U.S. adult population are lawyers, 41% of Congress are lawyers - that's 68 times the.national average. I don't know if you've had interactions with lawyers, I've had plenty, Criminal - civil- IRS - Family - Traffic etc.none pleasant,and I can tell you they are the lowest form of life there is. Their job is to create fear in you so you need them,,create a doomsday scenario so they can come in and save you, create the chaos then make it appear like only they have the answer - sound familiar. That is the template from which every politician is cast these day "Only I can save you, I'm going to D.C. and fight for you." What?

After you get elected and you go to Washington they sit you down in a room and say "Congratulations, we know you had to say a lot of things during the campaign to get elected, regarding what you were going to do when you came here, well, you're not going to do any of that. If you try to you will never chair, or even sit, on a committee and we will use the party coffers to run against you in the next election and you will be a one term Congressman / Senator / President.", it is the birth of a career politician.They are beholden to lobbyists, big donors (business) period. Former Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill used to say "Money is the mother's milk of politics."

Here comes a self-made billionaire, self funded, never ran for office and the first one he goes for is the Triple Crown, Grand Slam of the Presidency. You don't think these career politicians Clinton, Romney, Bush, Cruz, Biden are jealous, envious, bitter? They've planned this their whole lives - all the work, fund raising, kissing babies, kissing ass, mall openings etc. He has the audacity to enter their domain and go for the PRESIDENCY! More importantly, the 2 parties are scared to death because they have been entrenched in this system forever and they dismissed this guy out of hand and he's making a fool out of them. The parties, and their politicians, are united because Trump threatens their very existence. What if more people, like Trump, decide to run for office, these career politicians will have to leave DC and get a job. Lawyers are the most low self esteem, high ego people on the planet, this has them rattled down to their core, it's job security - for both parties and that's why they are united against him.You see, most politicians look to get power to become rich, Trump is already rich and powerful, it must be driving those lawyers CRAZY. His enemies are united against him.

The Founders never meant for there to be career politicians and that is why the turnover every 2 years for Congress, they had their fill of that with Parliament, I think they were on a 7 year term. They designed this government for regular people to come to Washington, serve and GO BACK HOME and be subject to the laws they passed, of which there are over 20 million, including regulations. Now you know why Congress has over 68 times more lawyers than the national average. The only way for the money to keep flowing is for them to constantly make criminals out of the rank and file. While we bicker over elections and candidates they sit back and dine in the fanciest restaurants, stay in the swankiest hotels, golf at the best courses and hand us the bill - exactly like lawyers do. All the while making it appear they are working. Remember, they are all in the same union, the BAR (British Accredited Registry) and their first obligation is ALWAYS to the court, i.e. why we have/will have so many laws. (Ex. 40,000 laws entered into the Federal Register on 1/1/11)

Say what you want about Trump but I've seen a LOT of kids inherit money or a business and within a year it is gone, forever. He managed to surpass his father, many times over, and now he is running for President, not bad for a contractor. You don't get to run a worlwide organization like his without the ability to identify brilliant, talented and dedicated leaders. He knows how to delegate his authority and to pick the right people for the job, and isn't that what a great leader does. Ask yourself this, when the Founders were thinking about what country they wanted to create, the ideas and ideals they had in mind when drafting those incredible documents that were the blueprint of the greatest experiment of freedom and opportunity in human history, who do you think fulfills that criteria more than anyone running. Who has benefited more from the freedoms and opportunities of America and whose lifestyle would not change one iota if they lost tomorrow. He goes home to Milenia, c'mon just nabbing that I'd crown him king.

Besides, when do you get a chance to piss off this many lawyers in one shot.

Well written and thought out. Thank you for that....If Trump is the nominee I will vote for him but I believe they will never let him win, even if he secures the popular vote. As you say, he is not a lawyer or part of the political machine. The Electoral College is always there for them.

The reason people vote for Hillary is because she drives the Republicans crazy, that's why the Liberals love her, and him. That is why the media aid and abet them in getting away with what they do by not investigating, never asking the serious quetions, or if they do they are scripted out with the answers. Republicans are held to a higher standard by the media AND their voters so the threshold is much higher. I was a Conservative in NY, separate party, and we are held to an even higher standard. If this email thing turns out to be the one thing the media cannot help her with you will see how fast these Liberals will eat their own. They'll drop her like a wet food stamp because the party is all that matters.

That is the beauty of Trump, he's giving the finger to both of them. The worst thing he ever did was to sign that pledge he would not run as an Independent because at the time he signed it he thought he would need them, he didn't. What he should do is like Reagan did, keep it simple - Reagan said I'm going to cut your taxes and rebuild the military. Those two things had such a ripple effect, domestically and internationally, it doubled the revenue going to the Treasury and brought down the Commies i.e. Star Wars, they couldn't keep up AND what scared them more than anything they knew Reagan would use it. Tell the American people "Year one I'm building the Wall and replacing Obama care immediately, year two etc." And in true Trump style he'll come in under budget and ahead of schedule. Just calculate what that wall will save us in one year in terms of jobs, food stamps, welfare etc. Then you start on the illegal ones already here receiving those benefits. Give them 6 months to get off or else their country of origin will be billed dollar for dollar, from our trade with them. You will see how fast they load up the Chebby Wagon and head toward Guadolahra.

If these illegals were white Europeans all the town criers i.e. Geraldo, Hillary, Rubio, Cruz et.al. would be at the forefront of stopping this invasion. But because it's future Democratic and "fence sitting" Republican voters, they're all for it. I would be just as vigilant if it were White Europeans, I'm an American born and raised and if Italy slid off the map tomorrow I'd eat a full meal and have a good night sleep, even though I still have relatives there. The worst phrase I hear from these post '64 Immigration Act immigrants is the phrase, when they talk about where they fled because of poverty, is "My country". They're here reaping the rewards of this land yet don't have an ounce of appreciation, loyalty or respect for the prosperity or accomplishments bestowed upon them. You have to wonder if a war breaks out with Mexico whose side will they be on, or will they all become Canadians, which isn't a bad idea.

I say give Trump a chance, if he fucks up, throw him out but if he does just 2 things, builds the wall and gets rid of Obamacare with health savings accounts, we are way ahead of the game. Voting for anybody else means putting a lawyer back in the most powerful position in the world, in other words, Obama will be getting a 3rd tetm, in essence. The scariest thing is that I am actually making sense on the forum, we're screwed fellas.

As previously stated by others the one thing that scares me is, considering the size and population of this country, we can not come up with one honest, incorruptible man to run for the most prestigious position in this land. Maybe that's because only the wealthy can afford to run!!
Then again all the usual candidates come from just two very controlled parties. Perhaps that is why Trump is getting the following that he has been getting. The people see him as a hope that he will not be controllable by the machines we call our parties. But will he be honest? Only time and an election will tell. That is if the machine doesn't politically or physically assassinate him before he is even elected.
Hillary, is obviously part of the other machine with no hope of being honest or incorruptible. Scarier yet, if elected she plans to reinterpret the constitution.
Who should you vote for with a choice like that? HMMM.
Is this election really that important? When you consider the voters keep sending the same bought and paid for senators and congressmen back to Washington election after election. It's part of the good ole-boys rules you know. Here in PA we had one senator who wouldn't vote the way we thought he should and we threw him out of office. Next thing we knew he was running for president. Thank God the people were wise to him!
Therein may lie the real problem or solution. It is probably a good investment for an interested party to initially buy them when they keep coming back election after election and are in fact the ones who will vote on changes and add to the laws and bills that actually set the rules. How they vote is seldom reported on and few voters really know how their representatives are voting on bills, that is of course, if they even know who their representatives are.
When a president signs a bill of importance or vetoes one we usually all know how he voted and we can place the blame or credit on one man.
The real solution may be to pass a law highlighting any incumbent's name on the ballot form so we can vote any incumbent house member out of office after one term. It may then get too expensive for the interested parties to to buy them all. Think of how the parties would shudder if they had to reshuffle the deck every couple of years.

My two cents worth, from an ex British and Australian Army veteran and citizen of both countries.

Firstly i don't want to sound like i am blowing smoke up your arses or being viewed as patronizing and i certainly don't profess to be an expert in politics or indeed anything for that matter but i would like to make a couple of points.

The world, particularly the western world needs a strong America regardless of which of your leaders can give you that, Trump seems to be the closest to achieving that. I have seen the UK become almost totally ruined by useless and weak politicians and now i see Australia going down the same path. My forefathers, all our forefathers, British, Australian and American fought to make our countries what they used to be, only to see anyone just walk in and both undermine the very fabric of what our nations are/were and in a lot of cases abuse the privilege or worse still hate us for it.

I'll say this, none of us are blind and your country [America] was never perfect [where is?] and has made some mistakes but without your support and strength in two world wars our countries would have been crushed. Who are we looking to now again as the world and especially the South China sea area deteriorates, America.

Who would i rather have as a world power,leader and friend. America.

So the GOP and Tech leaders are holding secret meetings to figure out how to stop Trump. They are scared to death this Trump Train is unstoppable. If they attempt this, first it will backfire on the Republicans and they will be voted out of Congress, by their voters staying home and switching to Independant, and they won't regain it for generations. Second, there will be a revolt at the convention the likes we have never seen. This is exciting times.

This is exciting. There are two unwelcomed candidates in the race and they both have secured my vote when the time comes. I am so sick of the RNC. They have finally stopped calling looking for handouts. When they send me mail and it has a metered return envelope it gets all of my Cruz flyers returned. If I had Trump mailings they would get them as well. The Republican party is screwed and this secret island meeting just tightened the noose around their gizzards. I wish a painful death to the party that stabbed their base in the back. They stabbed us before they stabbed the likes of hillaree, reid, pelosi and the whole ignorant clan on the democrat side.
