Spray the whole thing? I recall reading this trick, but wasn't clear if you spray the whole thing or just the chrome? Photo of the final product?

The rubber pad comes free. Don't spray it. I disassembled the whole unit, cleaned, sanded the rough edges, primed and painted to match the kinda charcoal color of the the Matte Silver frame.
