My first day trip on my Mustang seat was 1105 miles straight through from North Texas to Anthem Arizona. I do believe it is a great touring seat and I really like it. The back support is super!

I recently installed the Mustang seat and find it much more comfortable than stock. Couldn't ride more than an hour without getting uncomfortable on the stock seat. Stayed in the saddle about 2 hours straight this weeknd with the Mustang and it felt great, could have gone longer no problem except I needed gas.

Seats are very subjective and what works for one perosn might not work for another. Hope you get it figured out. I've owned Ultimate seat as well on prior bikes and they are great too.

I went with the Ultimate King with the 2 backrest options. The seat dimensions for the King and Midrider are the same. Ultimate suggests that the Midrider pushes you forward a bit, which is not what I want. I never had a backrest before and I am so glad that I added that. I was good with the stock foot peg setup. Now that I added the Ergo II highway pegs, it's great having the backrest to lean on when you kick your feet up.

My first day ride on the new Ultimate was 450 mile. The Ultimate was awesome. Did a 2 hour escorted charity ride 2 days ago, so feet up for the full ride and I did have any concerns about the seat. I may tweak the Ergo IIs to try different riding positions but the seat was great.

My Ultimate was ordered "plain" without the carbon fiber accent trim.

I would STAY AWAY from Rick Mayer as far as you can....

I had him do my seat. First of all it took twice as long as I was told and I UPS'd it when they told me to. The seat is comfortable but the workmanship isn't up to par. I had to ship it back for issues in craftsmanship. I didn't get the seat back correct the second time either, and he refused to fix his (my seat) issues any further. The seat to tank fitment is a problem, that was one of the many things I sent it back for. The seams of the cover and the shaping of the foam don't line up on each other correctly and it just looks sloppy. I expected a professionally made product, and that's not what I received. He was very rude to me and I would not recommend his work to fellow board members.

    Thanks for the heads up!!

I'm planning on getting a new seat. Thanks for your info, That is the last thing any of us want: Delay, Poor Quality, Refusal to make it right, and Rudeness. I will definitely spend my dough elsewhere. Much appreciated.
