Thinking about a new helmet (Shark Evo-One) but it doesn't have D-ring -- uses the micro-metric buckle instead. So my question for anyone who has such a buckle, how do you attach helmet easily to the bike? Assuming the helmet lock on bike will be of no use. I do have one of those Aussie made HelmetLoks but it does not appear large enough to attach to seat rail or MP3 rack. Any ideas? Thanks!

Is that a full face or modular helmet that has a chin bar? If so, I have solved that problem with a 3ft length of plastic covered cable with a loop in each end. Just run the cable through the chin bar and around the passenger handrails or through the luggage rack if ya have one, then lock the loops together with a small padlock. Pretty easy to figure something out, I did.

before you buy it, check to see if it fits in either saddle bag. My Shoei Neotec, full face fits in either side on my 6.

Sounds just like my Nolan helmet. I open the chin bar & slide it over the passenger backrest & tighten the metric strap to hold it down. It's not really locked but it stays in place. Wish my open face helmets didn't have the D ring. Love it's quick on & off. I only wear the Nolan in bad weather.

Now that is GOOD to know!

With my Shoe full face I made a cable with a loophole on each end. Goes a round chin bar, thread loop through the other loophole, lock loop end to built in helmet lock on left side hand rail. Helmet sits on the seat.

The cable that comes with a new gun works well with my Nolan 104, there's space between the latch l put the cable threw and lock it to luggage rack then put the helmet on the back rest then lower chin bar down and it stays all day.

+1 This is what I use on my helmet also! Mine slides through the gap of the buckle and the strap.

Haven't found the right cable yet, but I was thinking of using a cable to run it through the chin bar of my new modular, loop it around the grab handles, & the lock the end loops in the F6B's helmet lock.

Something similar to the yellow/orange cable in this ad:

If you just need a locking cable you can find one low priced at Wall Mart in the bicycle section.

I use this with a 4'cable. Can lock helmet through the chin bar (or two helmets) plus can run cable through sleeve of your jacket to secure that as well. Fits well in either cubby or in the gas cap well.

My flip fits in my saddle bag also. But in case I'm already full I carry a cheap lock stored under my fuel lid to the side of the cap. Plenty of inexpensive choices 4 bucks and up. https://www.walmart.com/ip/WordLock-8mm-x-4-ft-Cable-Bike-Lock-Black/36256661#customer-reviews

CThis is the cable I use(the shorter one) and use it like you are saying. Only difference is that I use a small padlock.

If you get one long enough you can also use it to loop through your jacket arm and that way lock up your bike jacket also.

I had the "T" bars made like in post #7 and use a gun lock, and one of these..http://wingstuff.com/products/150-handlebar-helmet-holders

Do a search I have pics somewhere!

I did the cable deal too.
At ACE I got the 1/16" SS "wire rope" aka "cable", couple ft. is plenty. Made a nice size loop each end, covered it w/ heat shrink. It's long enough to go through the chin bar or "D" ring, down to the Honda lock, when sitting on the seat. I can coil it up & it sits around the gas fill neck. Also carry a TSA lock in case it doesn't want to sit on the seat. With the cable & TSA lock you can lock it in lots of places.
Plug: I have a XL full face NEXX only weights 2.8lbs, makes it EZ on the ole neck. Love it. :)

" I can coil it up & it sits around the gas fill neck. "

Hey, I like that idea. I've been carrying mine in the left side cubby. The gas cap area sounds super.

+1 on that idea. I've been keeping my cable lock in the saddlebag. What a PITA, as a result it doesn't get used much. Don't know why I never thought of this before.
