Checking out the local bike shops recently I talked to a young sales guy who I've dealt with many times...nice kid and he knows I don't have a dog in this race.

I noticed Honda is offering up some buyer incentives to the tune of a couple of thousand +/- on new Goldwings. My young friend said it was unusual for Honda to offer incentives on new inventory at this time of year. He and the other staff suspect Honda was ramping up to clear 2017 inventory in anticipation of something new from Honda.

I countered with - this rumor seems to persist every year..to which he said that he and the other sales staff had a hunch that Honda is up to something for 2018...

What do you guys and gals think? Will 2018 be the year of change? Has the Yamaha TC release signaled the race has started?

My dealer said last year he thought 2018 would be the year. It was rumored to be 2017 but he believes it got pushed back because of the plant closing last year .

I hope they do something big. The new Yamaha sure has stepped it up a few notches if the actual bike lives up to the pictures and video.

Honda needs to clear GW inventory. When you discontinue a model line the remaining stock depreciates even more.:icon_doh:

Just depends, but sometimes not until late in the year for the next year.

The dealership I buy from has the GW audio comforts at $19,999. Track and Trail in State College PA is the cheapest I've seen at $17,999.

Great deal.

Hollink Motor Sports sells Hondas pretty cheap. I think he has an ABS model in stock, too.

I will be curious to see how Honda responds, hopefully they see what the competition is up to and comes up with a Wing that has all the goodies but maintains the flat-6, durability, handling, etc.
