On the Mastad shield I know I would want a grey but not sure how dark each one is. Choices are Light, Med, Dark and Extra Dark Gray. I do want to be able to see through it in case I have to duck behind it to avoid rain. So if you have a picture of the any of choices, I would love to see it and know which choice you have and or you opinions. I think light and extra dark may be out.

On the Madstad site, they have this picture:

Extra Dark Grey (what I have) will not permit "low light seeing through."

I am using Medium Gray on my 13" Madstad. If I was to order a 15" additional shield (which I may do for this upcoming winter) it would be Medium Gray as well.

No problem for me to see through it... even at night... but you have to manage expectations of the light filtering at night.

Thanks Steve. I don't know why I do not see that on the site. Anyway I have a 17" dark grey ordered.

Not your fault....It's not with every make/model bike....I found this one in the Kawi section.
Cheers,
Steve

Had the 13 inch medium grey but found it to dark to see potholes coming up, especially on shaded areas on the road. Most of the time it was ok and does look good but I ended up putting the tall Honda shield back on for now. Will eventually order a clear or light grey replacement madstad."coffee"

I tried a 13 inch light grey but it was too short so I went with a 15 inch clear and I prefer the clear. It is great if you have to look through it at night and I think it looks better in the day because it almost disappears and you notice the black base and looks better.

I'd be interested to know how the 17" one works. I'm 6'3 and considering it. Is it 17 inches at the lowest setting, measuring from the rubber gasket? I'd like to know how tall it is at full height.

Thanks, Dusty

Dusty I will give you a report. I'm 6'3" also and expect this 17 to be plenty tall enough. If too tall that will help decide how much lift I have to put into the seat I plan to purchase later. It is on the way they tell me.

Then you'll have to adjust for the handlebars after the seat replacement :icon_lol:

Already have the riser blocks and they helped and heaven help me and my credit card if I have to go with the Heli Bars. I also think it is not impossible to build or alter the existing bars to be more where you would like them to be.
