I finished a 10-day trip to WI and IL. Driving down from the Dells, I made sure to detour to Belleville, WI where the outlet store is located. To my surprise, I see a red F6B parked out front. I think, "Oh boy, this is going to be a fun stop."

Went in and found Don from NJ. He's a board member, but hasn't been on for at least a year. We probably talked for half an hour. Great guy.

Bought a pair of firehose for $45. I'm now a believer in these pants. All the hype is true.

I'd talk more about meeting a fellow F6Ber, but I didn't tell him I'd be posting about it, so I'll stay respectful.

The Firehose pants are good to go. $45 is a GREAT deal.
I might need to stop by there if I get up that way!!!

Cheers,
Steve

Yep! Got me FOUR pairs as well from the Duluth store in Manassas, VA. And a new belt too.... was quite nice buying a smaller belt. A "fitting" testament to successful weight loss :icon_cool:

Do you guys buy the firehose pants for comfort, protection, or both?

They actually breath better than bluejeans.

I will have to stop there on the way home from Montana.

Are they designed to be riding pants, with built in protection against abrasion and impact on the joints?

No, they are just heavy duty pants. I have 3 pair. But, they do not have any "CE" protection or pads, anywhere. They are just tuff work pants, not motorcycle specific. They have an extra piece of material in the crotch, they call a gusset, which does make the more comfortable, riding.

If you are coming through Wisconsin and Illinois, there is a brand new Duluth Trading store in Hoffman Estates (NW suburb of Chicago). This store has the distinction of being the first built to order Duluth Trading store. Other locations took over existing building (albeit with extensive renovation). The other good part about the Hoffman Estates location is that it is right down the road from a giant Cabela store.

For the 11oz Firehose jeans to be so abrasive resistant; I am pleased that they do feel cooler in the summertime. Not sure how that is going to work out during the colder months... but there are undergarments which will negate that cooler felt temperature sensation.

Not great in the winter. Definitely need something over or under. I have two pair and wish I had more. Order them longer than normal. Mine ride high over my boot...hate that.

Wayne, Duluth has a "No Bull" refund/exchange policy. You can bring those pants back and exchange them for a longer size... doesn't matter if you had them for a year or more...

I just did that a couple of weekends ago with a pair that were too short for me. I had a 30" length and they took them back (used) and gave me a new 32" length. :icon_cool:

I also exchanged a 42" belt for a 40" belt. No problem

I'm at the Winstar Resort/Casino reading this thread. Rode up here a few nights ago. ALL the clothes I brought with me & wear almost every day are Duluth. The underwear & tshirts & undershirts are very comfortable & the tshirts stay in your pants. I generally don't wear a vest on short rides but always put on a Duluth wicking shirt because they're longer & easy to tuck. I heard about Duluth on this forum & thank the guys who took the time to write about them. Yep, the prices are high but the comfort level is even higher.

Wish I knew....they're too old now, I can't do that. Thanks for future knowledge.

Should you see a 5' 8" white haired woman cussing at the nickle slot machines, say hi to my mother.
She and her friends are there for a few days.....

I'd think there might be a slew of white haired woman cussing like that!

Will do! I've seen a few white haired women singing, cussin, & one was in her wheel chair outside smokin' who said she wished she could go riding with me. I'd have sure taken her for a ride on the bike if I could have. Had a good time.
