Don't know if you read my story on the broken shifter, but just to let you know.
I hit something fairly large in the highway on my way to Montana and it gave my
shifter quite a whack. In fact it bent and broke the end off, leaving me just a nub to shift with.
This made the rest of the trip a bit of a challenge to say the least.
To let you know what needs to be done to replace said shifter.
Remove totaled belly pan lower front fascia[where your road lights are] then
the fascia that covers your exhaust. Next you have to remove your exhaust on that side.
A bit of a pain to do with the cross over pipe and o2 sensor.
Then it takes about 2 and 1/2 min to replace shifter.
Now the fun really begins with getting your exhaust to line back up and get the cross over and o2
and all in and the six bolt back on the heads for pipes WITH NO LEAKES.
All and all took about 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours to do. One more time I have learned to look
down the road and have also learned more than I ever wanted to know about this wonderful Bike.
