'welcome gang'.welcome20.

Welcome Mike!

You wil find MANY differing opinions in these hallowed pages on a few of your topics.
Using the search engine, you can find a lot of good data.

I can speak personally for the Aeropegs - love them.
The rest I'll leave to those who have (or had) them.
Cheers,
Steve

Rivco flip out pegs are good looking. Just make sure to flip them closed, when you park the bike. If it goes over, $$$$ :yikes: Several on the Forum have had this happen. Damages the valve cover.

Before you purchase a Heal/Toe Shifter, I would humbly suggest you read and heed the attached Post/Thread of a former member. Undue stress induced by some extra leverage on the trans resulted in some very complex repairs!

Clock Works shield here in my extra parts pile. Not much good at blocking wind in my case. Replaced it with a Mastad.

I suggest you put 2-3 thousand miles on it before you do anything. There's a ton of aftermarket stuff out there. Do lots of reading, ask questions & figure out what works for you.

As mentioned Mike, you'll get a lot of differing opinions on aftermarket items. For instance, I love my Klock Werks 14" dark smoke flare windshield and have no issue with it not blocking the wind efficiently. Almost certainly it's an issue of rider height (and seat height too) that creates the difference of opinion between me and 2Wheels. Lots of great options to choose from and no one 'right' answer.

Where in Alberta are you? If in the Calgary area happy to show you the setup on my bike. Good luck and enjoy the forum. Lots of great people and advice here.

Aeropegs...very happy with mine. Look great and work good too.

I really like the look of the Klockwerks windshield but decided to go Madstad.

The smartmount backrest...i absolutely hate it. It made my seat so uncomfortable...and i really didnt mind the stock seat too bad until i put that on. I could never get it adjusted quite right and there was a lump in the middle of the rise of the seat.
Ended up with an ultimate king with backrest and it fits me well

As said above, I would ride it for a while and then see what you feel you need...Personally, I am not in favor of any of your choices, but it is your bike and your money....Ride safe

I have the flip out switch blade type Rivco. I like them a lot. However, I can extend and close the right one easily with my foot at speed. I have a real job extending the left one. For some reason the top of my foot won't catch on it. Obviously closes with no problem.

I purchased a heel toe shifter from Rivco, but did not like it at all. My previous bike was a Honda VTX 1300 and I loved the heel toe shifter on it, but the foot position on that bike was way forward. On the B as the shifter is not so far forward, I found it very uncomfortable to use, so I removed it after a week and sent it back and Rivco credited me the whole price (Yaa Rivco) Also as stated here, It does seem to clunk the gear shift more. I really like the shifter on the bike. stick with it.

If you're running the OEM seat... and you're over 5'10" tall... you may not like the slight amount of helmet buffeting. If you're looking for a "clear air bubble" - better do some serious research on what brand/model & size will best suit you.

IMHO... the more one needs a still bubble of air behind the fairing/windshield, the more the F6B starts looking like your run of the mill Goldwing.... IMHO, to keep the "look" and still have adequate protection, some level of compromise between style and function needs to exist for this bike.

Baggershield adjustable works great for me and is very quiet at all speeds.....No buffeting or wind noise irritation that bothers..I am 5' 9" with the 1" lower Mustang seat and all is well.....Don't like the looks of the Madstad, to much hardware!!!

When it comes to windshields, you have to decide what is more important to you, form or function. The angle/height adjustable shields work better at deflecting wind but they sure don't look as good as some of the other fixed shields. Form or function? I think you have to choose. You can't have both.

Im with 53driver...I really like the look of the Madstad on mine. Its not function only.

My opinion here, but the only down side to the Klockwerks windshield is it is not adjustable. It looks awesome on the B...but if it doesnt work for you you cant tune it. That is probably the main reason I didnt buy it

I will third the opinion that the Mastad looks good on the B. Both the bike and the shield look futuristic. Besides if the shield does not work good then the bike will look better with the useless stock shield. It is all a matter of opinion when talking about how something looks. I see things sometimes on bikes that make me say egads what are they thinking?

heard horror stories about the heel toe shifter. causing damage to the tranny.

I know the F6B is tight around the toe area....
I have a pair of steel toe motorcycle boots from my Harley days...
There is no fitting that boot toe under/over that shifter.
Thus the reason a lot of guys tried the heel toe shifter.

I still like riding in boots, but now I wear my work boots.
No steel toes or composite toe boxes.

I wear Bates, 5.11, Thorogood's ,,, a normal toe fits well enough.

I'm with the guys above who say, "put a few thousand miles on it before a bunch of changes"

Also, I Love my baggershield. it is 11" in the down position and 19" when its up.

Just did a little over 4K miles with Rivco pegs and I love mine. Rivco modified the design to eliminate engine damage if you drop the bike. The peg has a relief machined in the design to allow the peg to break away and save the motor. Ask me how I know as that is a lesson on never leaving them extended. Peg replacement is simple and 47.00 for a black one. So I guess to be honest 3500 miles with 2 and 500 miles wishing I had 2.. :icon_doh::yikes::icon_redface:
