I know I'm all the way over on the left coast, and all I could offer were prayers, but then I thought... No, I can do more.:icon_biggrin:
So I'll make this offer, I'm opening my home to anyone who wants to get off the right coast and spend a few day on the left coast as Irma takes sight on Florida and heads up the coast. Yea, I'm a long ways away, but my door is always open in time of need and even if ya just want to stop in and spend a night or need a few weeks.
I live alone in a 4 bedroom house with hot tube, BBQ a mile off Pismo Beach. Anyone that wants to take me up on my offer please send me a pm and I'll supply all the details.

Well, I'm not exactly affected by Irma on that planned path, but that is a mighty righteous offer!
Thank you sir!

I would also be happy to host anyone who can't quite get as far west as Larry's place. I'm just east of Pensacola, I-10 exit 22, 5 miles north.

You will have to overcome the lack of hanging space in the guest room closet although most people find they can deal with it pretty easily.

Good lord Steve... That probably rivals Richard Branson's wine cellar on Neckar island

(where they reportedly rode out Hurricane Irma...) :shhh:

Hell,
with a closet stash like that I might have to head east to Steve's house and let the storm drift right on by too.:icon_lol:

Larry, that's a stand up offer on your part. I don't need it but it is pretty generous all the same.

Steve, put a call in to Sir Richard Branson. The word is his wine collection has weathered out the storm on his private island. I have no doubt your collection is much larger than his...:icon_lol:

Since I concur with these, AND I'm teaching MSF all weekend!

Just as an assist to anyone...here are the weather sites I am using to monitor Irma. I prefer raw data to talking heads......

Good graphic pics in this one:
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at1+shtml/093751.shtml?tswind120#contents

Computer models and forecast tracking in this one:
https://www.wunderground.com/…/atl…/2017/tropical-storm-irma

The spaghetti models and other computer tracks are fun in this one - also lets me know what the broadcast stations are sending to the masses:
http://www.wtsp.com/weather/spaghetti-tracks

And of course, the REALLY big picture:

Refresh often for best results!

My "outlaws" now are evacuating from Ft Myers since last night... the Hotel that they were going to ride it out in (all concrete construction) closed. They're presently slogging along with the rest of the masses, hopefully they'll get here early Sunday morning.

From observing the predicted Hurricane track... looks like the Florida west coast may get buzz-sawed by Irma. Which is quite unfortunate... Ft Myers (as well as many other communities) are situated there... my "outlaws" may lose everything.

That has got to completely suck. Losing everything you worked for (retirement home). Sure.. insurance can rebuild but its just not the same. :icon_frown:

My fingers are crossed for them... but not much more we can do; except keep them safe up here until they can get back and determine what's next for them.
