Since adding the utopia backrest I have the urge to eliminate the passenger backrest. The wife hasn't been on since the weekend I bought the bike and I like the sleeker look.

Is the luggage rack the only option to cover the mounting brackets after removing the backrest?

No, the standard F6B comes with covers that have no holes, you do have to remove the 2 mounting brackets and install the new covers, there is a little phillips screw that is holding the one with the holes and the blank ones, ask me how I know this is because I have a standard and needed the passenger backrest for wife, got a great deal on here, but had to spend another 107. for mount and covers, btw my stock covers are in a drawer now in garage if need be, but are black in color. To remove brackets, seat and side arms have to come off, and lift rear cover up, but do not have to remove cover completely as the antenna is mounted through it.

Great I just need the covers then. Havent seen them on ebay or any other site. Sounds like I'll have to source them through the dealer.
Thanks for the info.

Lordy, do not buy them thru the dealer. Usually you will pay too much. Search for Honda OEM parts. There are several parts dealers that will save you plenty of money.

Last time I looked the black solid blanks were not available from Honda whse east or west. Good luck.
