Well I finally got around to getting my rack powder coated. I have to say, I am very happy with how it turned out.

Thanks!!! I tried painting it a couple different times but it never turned out how I wanted it too. Should have went with powder coat from the beginning.

I did indeed! I laid it out in a 3D modeling software and someone from the forum helped me source someone to cut it using a water jet. I welded and prepped it for powder coat then had a buddy of mine do the powder coat.

GREAT WORK! and the good part is, you did it all yourself ! That's always a great feeling =
FYI I've had good luck using brake caliper paint, then baking it in our kitchen oven. No smoke or smell. You can all a tech rep for baking info

Just curious, what purpose does the "lip" serve? I've always preferred a flat rack for full support.

I just preferred the lip over flat look and it will keep stuff from sliding. I won’t be carrying much of anything on here.
