I did the Parkway with Teach a couple of years ago after the Dragon. One of her favorite rides, along with the Cherohala.

This new section that is about to open should be much better than what now exist. More bridges, more elevation, more scenic views. Last year at the rally I took an exploring ride up Carrs Creek road and viewed the new Parkway where it went over Carrs Creek Rd. Looking forward to riding the whole section from Walland to Wears Valley soon.
