Brother loves to watch Mecum and Barrett Jackson auctions on tv. He's had a couple of rough years, health wise, and I thought it would be fun for him to actually see on so we are going to a Mecum action this weekend. Leaving in a couple of hours and driving down. Staying at the Argosy Casino Hotel and Spa for three nights. Been reading up on Craps and hoping to go to the Light and Power district for some people watching. Any advice would be appreciated.

Safest bet is the "don't pass" line but boring. I'm an optimist so I'm always on the other side, mostly to my financial demise.

Craps is a great game if you want to lose a LOT of $ real fast. You're better off with roulette - play red outside, middle 12, even and you'll lose your $ much slower or the penny slots.

Skilled blackjack players have the best chance of beating the house. Of course that is not why the casinos exist.

So what is your better half going to say when the car transport hauler backs up to your drive way.

I've had a few great runs on the table but that "7 out!" makes your wallet thin quick.

BBQ ideas: Gates, Joe's Kansas City, or Jack Stack are great options.
The Arabia Steamboat Museum on the north side of downtown is interesting. They dug up a steamboat that sank in the mid 1800 and have all the good's it carried on display.
The Liberty Memorial National WW1 Museum is amazing if you like history. It's the only big WW1 museum in the country.
If you like art, the Nelson Atkins is a top ranked gallery and it's free.

The big St. Pat's parade is on Saturday. If the weather's good, the people watching at Power & Light will be rather entertaining.

If you drive south into KCK on 69 HWY from Argosy you'll pass through a rough area. Not a good place for an evening cruise.

Good luck.

Well, we are back, did not buy anything, to expensive for out blood and when you add in the 10% Mechum fee, on the price and $900.00 to ship each vehicle back, my bro decided not to get any cars. Stayed at Argosy Casino, motel and Spa, it was nice. My brother spent way more time on the slots then I did and they are tight. Broke about even on the Craps table, was not willing to spend the bigger money, played conservatively, saw plenty play aggressively and loose a lot of money. Last try at it last night had about 8 people "7 and out" in about 40 minutes and lost the money I allotted for the evening. Was still a lot of fun.
