Just placed an order to upgrade my (now nearly an antique) GoPro Hero3. Going with a Garmin VIRB this time around. Not only do the majority of reviews tend to favour the Garmin over the present Heros, but the fact that my Garmin Zumo 590 will connect to and control it made it terribly attractive as well.

Looking for idea on mounting it on my 'B. Photos and ideas are all welcome!

Is that a standard GoPro adhesive mount, or a suction cup?

Which GoPro are you using? Any troubles with rolling shutter (jello effect) with it mounted there?

I have a Virb and use a Ram ball mount attached to the top of the left front engine guard.

Ive recently installed the Innovv C5 underneath the center of my headlight.


That was where I had in mind to mount the VIRB....the flat space on the bottom of the fairing directly beneath the centre of the headlights.

Alas, there does not appear to be as much room there as I had thought. Now that the VIRB has arrived and I can get a better idea of things, I'll look a little closer at the idea. But....at first glance, there doesn't seem to be enough vertical space there to mount it and still remain clear of the front fender as the fork moves up and down.

I may have to look into something akin to the way JBM has his mounted above. Was hoping for a little less obvious mounting however. Hate having the mount plate permanently stuck in the middle of the fairing when not in use (admittedly most of the time).

Standard GoPro mount with a Session 5. I can control it from my phone. Work great!

Under the left mirror. A sticky go pro mount with dual swivels and a 6-32 screw to make sure it stays. Camera can be turned on and off with a press of the button on the camera from the riders seat.

On the top left mirror
Charging cable through the mirror housing into the cubby.
Dual port on the adapter one for my phone and one for go-pro.

Interesting situation.....

Decided to mount at the very bottom of the windscreen (below the faring nose did indeed prove to be impossible). In the past, when I've mounted to curved surfaces, they were close enough to the curvature of a curved mount that it would work. Alas, the curvature of the windscreen at that site is too shallow to fit to a curve mount. Same goes for the fairing valance (the part that covers the windscreen bolts).....didn't really want to mount there anyway as the there is some road vibration that might cause troubles with the video, but I'd put it there if I had to.
