So I was getting ready to take the fork tubes off the F6B to have the new cartridge kit installed. In checking my kit it is #31-2511, I think this is the wrong kit.
Monday I will check with Wingstuff but I believe I need 31-2525.
Kind of bummed out, think I'll have to return and re order.

I believe the part #s are 31-2525 or 31-2526 (1" lower). A quick google search... i find info for the gl1800 though. I guess a call to wing stuff could clear this up.

Dennis Kirk uses #31-2511 as a useable part #. I think they are the same.

Wing Stuff could not tell me the difference between the two kits but we are swapping them out. same price

Looking forward to your report when you get them. Going to make a call on what I am going to do after looking and seeing your report.

Received the new Monotube kit yesterday and hope to have the install done next week after Memorial day. Stopped by Grumpy's in Thorntown and he said he would do the installation.

I have driven by his shop several times, I think he does a good business in Goldwings, several folks I ride with have used his service and recommend him.

Now that I have a couple hundred miles of twisties on the new front end, I highly recommend it. No bottoming out, a lot more stable in bumpy corners. Only problem is now it makes the rear suspension weaknesses more glaring.

What are you thinking for in the rear? Progressive/Arnott/Other?

That is what I am considering as well, going to see how RickC set up performs and may go the same direction.

Over the weekend I had the Progressive monotubes installed. Also put on a fork brace and disabled the anti dive. The new front end takes most of the harshness out of bumps in the road the ride feels smoother. I have a long gravel drive way and I feel more stable on it now which may be due to the fork brace. I'm not an aggressive rider but I think I feel more planted to the road in the curves. All In all I thought the F6B rode great as stock and I had no really big complaints before the change but am always looking to make things better. Not 100% sure the improvement was worth the money spent but I did learn a lot taking the bike apart and watching/helping Grumpy with the fork rebuild so that education is worth some.

So Kevin if you want, my offer to get together and check it out first hand is still open, we can meet in Kokomo or Cicero some time.

Thats pretty much how I feel about it. But I am an aggressive rider and i think it is good jump in stability in corners.

Rick,
Up in Michigan this week riding Tunnel of Trees and Sleeping Bear Dunes area, Will get with you soon, I want to hear how you like or dislike them. That BBQ joint on the far east side of your town sounds like a great RTE meeting point.
