They are very handy. I have one for the saddlebag lock and one for the glove box that I also pull and use for the gas lid. I used a Dremmel to cut the keys the right length (glove box key is shorter) and then to cut a slot in the knob for the key to fit tightly. Filled that whole part of the knob with epoxy. Let it cure completely and it is solid as a rock.

I have knob keys on fuel door and top compartment. My challenge is getting the correct length on the saddlebag lock. the fuel door & top compartment key knobs are too short, and the one I have in the saddlebag lock sticks out too far (for me). Any tips for cutting the saddlebag key length? BTW, kudos to whoever came us with this approach!

Mate lift your seat and disconnect the saddlebag lock.
Its only a wire

From Lowes a 27R key does not have to be cut down and will operate the fuel door, cubby and saddlebag locks. It will not operate the ignition and is inexpensive.
