Looking for any tips and locations for an Arizona Ride. Thinking about Staying in Mesa and returning each night or possibly Leave Mesa Thursday Morning and back to turn rentals in Saturday night.

Planning to fly to Phoenix late January, rent a bike and Ride. Only 3 days so not enough time to ride by Bike out there from NC

Any Concerns about Flagstaff and weather that time of year?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

CarolinaRider,

Arizona can be fun in January but Flagstaff which is at 7,000 ft elevation probably won't work. Rides east out of Mesa through Superior, Globe and around Lake Roosevelt and Tonto National Monument are some nice riding. Another area south and east of Tucson is popular during the winter. Tombstone, Bisbee, Sonoita and Patagonia are all in that area and Bisbee is particularly historic and scenic. The Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson is a great place to spend some time.

If you are looking for a place to rent your bike take a look at Buddy Stubbs Harley Davidson in Phoenix. In my opinion a much better deal than the Eagle Rider franchises

Hope you enjoy your time in Phoenix and if you have any specific questions I will do my best to answer them

AZ Wingrider has forgotten more about the best rides than most people know! He really was a godsend in Cortez, and take his advice on Buddy Stubbs, he's the museum curator there!

I flew out to Phoenix in March this year and rented a bike From AZ Ride Rentals. I had intended to rent a F6B, but saw that they had a new BMW K1600B and decided to try that out instead. I met up with a friend and did the Southern Arizona (Tombstone, Bisbee, Sonoita as described above.) All gorgeous, every day better than the last. I really liked Bisbee, stayed there overnight one night. Strongly recommend the trip. I had the advantage of meeting up with an old friend/ rider in Tuscon who served as tour guide. Four days on the F1600B also helped me decide that I really like my F6B better!

Glad to know you had a good time and, apparently, made it back home safe. Love your list of things learned. :D
