Looks like Florida panhandle is gonna get whacked, not the continuous beating that NC took, but a quick, violent shot.
I strongly urge all in the affected area to get their ducks in a row, get the hatches battened, WTDs secured, and, of course, lots of clear rum to prevent scurvy and pretend it's drinking water.
And get anything with an exhaust pipe elevated; don't fall for the "hurricane in the tailpipe."

If I can be of assistance to anyone in the area, please contact me and I'll do what I can.
Cheers,
Steve

It looks like it will come visit us in NC after Fla.

Any extra rum rations will be put to good use up here !!!

On a serious note, everyone be safe. Mother nature doesn't treat the un-prepared very well ....

You would need to fly to CO but if anyone in harms way needs a place to crash I have a whole empty basement. I'd even pick you up from DIA for a small tip. I'm sure a certain politically middle of the road Floridian will soon be on this thread explaining how this is somehow a Republicans fault.

Now, now now.....even most liberals will agree that Trump cannot control the weather....but I do have friends in San Fran who believe otherwise....

Most....My son is a fireman just outside of Looneyville in Petaluma CA. They consider it globull warming when the homeless burn down buildings in San Fran.

It is nice but way to expensive for a newly married couple with a kid on the way. The wife n I are trying to bribe them to CO but the daughter in laws not a fan of the cold.

Got to laugh I got a buddy who has a son who just got married in Southern California, His new mother/father in law just helped them buy a million dollar house there. I am telling you that same house would cost about 150,000 here in Indiana. I really dont know how people make it there!

Help or the house is passed down through family. They make 200k a year combined and can only afford to rent at 3200.00 a month. We left 5 years ago and got our daughter to follow. We'll keep trying.

Plus 1 for Steve, 53driver. I'll do what I can to help. Looks like we're just going to get lots of rain here in central FL.

Ewreck, They bought the house outright and then put them on a reduced payback 30 year plan. That was the only way they could afford to stay. Their combined income was maybe half of what you stated. They could not afford a doghouse for what they make. Honestly California is split between Million/Billionaires and homeless.

Heading down on the bike to Mexico Beach for a SCRC Rally in a couple of weeks. Hope the motel and restaurants are still standing after this storm with my namesake comes ashore. Really don't think we will get much here other than rain, so riding it out at home. I'm about a mile from the Beach but have good elevation.

Mexico Beach might be relocated to Mexico proper.
This storm is heading right there.

So, we're up to a Cat 4 now.....

Going to shelter in place.
We're west of the impact point, on the backside of the winds.
40' above sea level - no storm surge or flooding issues
Wind will be windy - duh.
Tree damage to house is my only concern, but I've got large tarps and a serious chainsaw to provide "first aid" to the roof should it become necessary.
Got a whole house generator.
'Adequate' ATF supplies to properly welcome & 'relax' any/all visitors seeking shelter, as well as defend against all enemies, foreign & domestic.
Got enough food to feed the neighborhood for a week.
Got a leg of lamb cooking now......
It's all good.

It never got bad here at all. Could not go anywhere as the bridge to town is always in danger of closing if the wind gets up. I think it is over now for this area. Thanks for the well wishes.
