I WAS going to retire in Nov next year , might just have to work 3 more months and have this Sweet Ride Too......Damit ! !

I like my f6b for the bags and fairing. The new Valk is 98lbs lighter than the 6 which is already very fast, it will be a rocket ship.
It appears to have a different frame, as the rake and trail are different. The wheels are also different size, with a 19 out front and a 17 rear.
If I hit the lotto I'd own both, but as it stands know I have to have a bagger, to cover trips and street fighting.

This is my Scientific Wild Ass Guess

Honda has created 2 new Bikes that use this proven 1832cc engine,

2015 will be GOLDWINGS 40th Anniversary year, will Honda introduce a NEW GL 2100 for its 40th Anniversary? and continue production on these 1800 engines for 3-4 years on this new Valkyrie and F6B ????? Will history repeat itself?

in 1997 Honda introduced the 1500 Valkyrie
In 2001 introduced the GL 1800 GoldWing, Honda continued to use the old 1500 Goldwing engine on the Valkyrie until 2003 (using up all of the parts?)

I think the Riders that purchase this bike will be very similar to the F6B Riders and would be nice to invite them into our events.

COOL!

Not into 'cruiser' anymore, but thank goodness Honda is filling in the gaps!

This will also benefit us F6B owners with aftermarket accessory developments,,,, Sure, some won't 'bolt on', but many will!

All around, I'm warming up to the appearance and glad to see Honda 'spreading out' a bit with their larger offerings!

HMMMM???? Maybe it will grow on me after awhile. Narrow fairing makes it look like a Triumph rocket 3 to me, kind of humped up a little to much with that 6 gallon tank, dont like
the shortened Rune headlight either. It doesnt look like a cruiser to me, looks like a euro touring bike on steroids, F6B is a better looking bike IMHO

Loved my '03 Valk for ten years and I know I'd really like this one. It's a stunner and if I could own a fleet, I'd be heading to my dealer right now with my checkbook. But the fleet idea isn't in the cards for me. That being said, I like and need some comfort and convenience items that would tend to screw up the striking appearance of the new Valkyrie. Some good wind protection, usable sized bags, and an aftermarket seat for sure. As much as the new Valk appeals to me, it's the F6B that floats my boat. I do still have a Valk T-shirt that I wear with pride.

It is eye candy for sure, and I love it, but the truth of the matter is I need the wind protection and bags on the F6B too. It's as close as I will probably get to a cruiser. When it gets right down to it, if I were to look at something else, it would probably be the new all black wing. That said, I appreciate all the new offerings Honda has coming. I like a company that innovates. Another thing, if my wife can't find me in the evenings, I'm probably out in te garage admiring my bagger.

I feel the same.

When I first saw it I liked it, and if I didn't already have F6B I may have thought differently. The first thing I would need to get for it would be the windshield, then saddlebags. I think those would ruin its athletic looks, plus it would start to look more and more like F6B, at least in a profile. And I already have F6B.

I do like the blue one. I just don't see myself buying one right now. The experience of riding one should be similar to F6B but with less coverage and some less weight (about a hundred pounds, give or take). No music, though.

I feel like if I wanted a cruiser I would buy something else just for a different riding experience (why I still have my VRSCF with bags and fairing with music).

Now if money was no object...

I still have trouble understanding why people that ride get so "hung-up" on ABS brakes. Most bike publications feel that Honda's linked braking system works just fine on the F6B..I have been riding for over 50 years and have not noticed much difference in either system..I guess it is a personal thing like cruise control, but I personally have little use for either with my riding style...JMHO

I second the motion! The linked brakes saved me just fine when I skirted between Bambi2 and Bambi3 the other day! I also would add "Didn't you know the F6B you bought didn't have ABS or a cruise control or an air bag or reverse or NAV or a wind shield! That is what makes it an F6B.

When I first saw the F6B it really grabbed me, I knew I had to have one. Not happening for me with this new F6C. Additionally, the F6B has the necessary convenience of bags, windshield, and great wind protection. If I wanted a bike without these features I'd likely consider something like the CB1100 before the F6C.

As much as I loved my 1998 Valkyrie I'm glad I got the F6B. Although the F6C looks tempting it does not have windshield or bags. Add those to the mix and you've upped the pricing to what the F6B is. This bike kinda reminds me of the Rune. Mounting a windshield and bags ruin the look. I find it impractical to ride without windshield and bags.

Very surprising offering from Honda. After many of us waiting all those years for the resurrection of the Valkyrie its finally here. What I really wanted when I bought the F6B was a resurrected Valkyrie and now I'm more than happy with it since I definitely like it better than the new Valkyrie.

2014 Honda Valkyrie | First Look Review

After taking a break from the Honda lineup, the six-cylinder Valkyrie is back (the name debuted 18 years earlier), and the Gold-Wing based 2014 Honda Valkyrie has been reimagined as a modern power cruiser. Displacing 1832cc and producing maximum torque at 4000 rpm, the new Valkyrie weighs 154 pounds less than a fully dressed Gold Wing, yet puts out all the power of the luxury tourer.
Introducing the 2014 Honda Valkyrie on the rooftop of the Petersen Automotive Museum above the Miracle Mile in Los Angeles, Honda Powersports Press Manager Bill Savino said, “Today a motorcycling icon returns in all-new form. The Valkyrie is back, but this isn’t a motorcycle that celebrates the past. This is a cruiser unlike any other for people who want to seize the future, who appreciate distinctive style, who want the kind of performance no cruiser can match. The Valkyrie redefines the term ‘muscle cruiser.’” While the basic aluminum-frame chassis is the same as the Gold Wing and Gold Wing F6B, the Valkyrie has a few new wrinkles. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel gives the 2014 Valkyrie a bit more cornering clearance, and the 130mm front tire is designed to improve turn-in, as is the conservative 180mm rear. The 45mm cartridge-damping front fork has been lengthened and revalved, lifting the front of the Valkyrie up a bit.
The brakes are also upgraded, with new 310mm rotors (296s on the Gold Wing and F6B) and a 316mm rear rotor. ABS is an option.
Ergonomics have also been altered. The footpegs are 1.3 inches higher and just over a half-inch farther forward than on the F6B. To complement that, the bars are 1.3 inches forward and 1.5 inches taller, as well as three-quarters of an inch wider. The bars themselves are a full one-inch in diameter, given them a muscular feel. The passenger seat on the massive plastic rear fender and grab rails are easily removed, leaving a stylish solo saddle for solitary rides.
Sitting on the bike, it feels surprisingly unintimidating for a 750-pound, six-cylinder machine. I fired up the motor, and the exhaust system, which is unique to the Valkyrie, sounded meaty, yet refined. There’s also a new intake system designed to give the Valkyrie a good sound. Blipping the throttle takes it past the redline and into the rev limiter with ease. I didn’t get to ride the bike, but that sound and response of the motor filled me with anticipation.
Also of note is a new dashboard, with an LCD digital speedometer, tachometer, trip meters, clock, and fuel-level gauge. There’s an opening message when you turn the key to the on position, and you can customize it to whatever you like. The unique handlebar switchgear, LED turn signals, LED taillight and LED headlight all add to make the Valkyrie stand out from the other six-cylinder Hondas, and give it a fully modern appearance.
Look to a Spring 2014 availability for the 2014 Honda Valkyrie.

Been lurking here a while as my next ride will most likely be the F6B. Pretty new to forums but learned a ton about my bikes on them. The regular gw forums seems to not like it or much else that I could tell but I don't see too much bad on any bike w the 1800 F6 engine. The F6B hits the sweet spot perfectly w bags and wind protection though.

who want the kind of performance no cruiser can match

Well, that may depend on your definition of performance,,,,

Until they change the overall design of the old 6, it won't be the fastest cruiser,,, if fastest is part of your 'performance' equation,,,,

Cruisers with 'traditional/conservative' designed 300cc chambers serviced by 2 valves red-lining at 6K are going to need at least 6 cylinders to 'keep up' with bikes a lot older than themselves.

Not slammin the 6,,, Just sayin it's a bit long in the tooth,,,

I've seen fully dressed Gold Wings toast more than one V-twin cruiser so the basic 2 valve motor is still potent. I doubt Honda is going to spend a ton of money modifying an engine that already puts out 100 ft/lbs of torque just above idle which is probably a wise move. Cheap to make and hopefully sold to the public at a seriously affordable price, the new Valkyrie should have enough shove to keep the most riders happy. I'm curious about the handling. The 67 inch wheelbase and 19 inch front rim aren't really the first thing on the wishlist for a sporty handling machine. Can't wait to ride one.

I like it and I'm considering it in blue and the ctx1300 in deluxe red. Some keep saying they won't consider it because of no wind screen and saddlebags, but those are clearly listed as genuine honda accessories for the bike.. I agree it may "ruin" the look of the bike, but I'm waiting to see what honda has come up with for both the valkyrie and the tall windscreen and trunk for the ctx1300 before I make my final decision.

Nice video. That headlight looks familiar........the Valk is definitely a BIG bike. My machines seem like toys compared to that beast.

Thanks for the great shots of the Valk...It is good for those who like a sportier flat six I suppose...I wanted bags and fairing and love my F6B so far....Had a 99 Valk Tourer which I really enjoyed a lot..It will be interesting to see what the new Valk looks like with aftermarket bags, windshield and back rest, which I understand Honda has available for this new ride......

I loved my old Valk but I guess you could say the comfort "ratchet" has set in. Now that I have the windscreen and saddlebags, there is NO interest in going back to the bare bones cruiser. Call me soft .violin.

I'm willing to bet that someone will come out with a set of Pull-Back handlebars, these appear to be too short for a short arm rider

NEW Video with detailed photos, shows ABS (maybe does not have linked system)

Honda designers are continuing to tweak the general movement toward really sleek, fluid lines. Although this bike is eye-candy to my artistic side, I wouldn't buy it.

My needs continue to be for a tourer that has locking security in bags, and one that is large enough and stable enough, that long days OTR are rejuvenating rather than wearing. This bike would be awesome for day rides, but then, where would I put my water bottle and store the layers coming off? Hmmmm, I'd need a backpack... sigh. Stopped being a mule years ago.

This one will definitely have buyers, and fits a certain demographic. I wish Honda well in its sales. I wonder if the paint is the same quality as the F6b? :icon_rolleyes:

I've got that same candy red VFR. Love that bike. That V-4 motor is a gem and a half!

I wanted to like the new Valk, having had one, it was worthless without a shield and bags. I'd want a valk tourer.

And I already have that.

Are they only offering it in one color? And is that the way Honda always did it. One color a year for the Valk.

They had a bunch of colors for the first valk.

By 02, they were all black, but there were lots of choices before that.

Guys I went to the Cycle Show today and only wanted to see the F6C and believe me there is no comparison to the F6B or the original F6C. The bike looks small. I bet the 6C flies. Much smaller in the face to face than it looks on film. The bike is kind of small for all of the engine packed in there. I didn't like the plastic controls for the stereo and othe items.

Did they use the same stereo controls as on the CTX? I thought those felt kinda low rent.

There is a new forum, just like this one, for the new Valk. Looks like no one but admins has posted to it yet. http://hondavalkyrie1800.com/cmps_index.php

Sat on one at the motorcycle show in Jan and having had a 2001 Valk Interstate I didn't like it. It looked short and very similar to the Triumph Rocket. It's fine looking bike, but a different look from the original Valks, which is why I went with the F6B instead.

Yeah, what he said… It would look like the F6B when I was done. It is a great looking bike but I need bags and wind protection. So, I'll keep my 6!'riding'

I rode the CTX1300 at Neihaus open house. I really liked it, handled very well, fairly smooth but placed more weight on your tailbone and seemed to ride a little harsh. I did like the sound of the motor and it seemed to have a fair amount of power. Wind protection was good. I still can't believe Honda Doesn't put cruise control on this kind of bike. Would I buy one, no , if doesn't have a flat 6 motor I'm not interested.

I'd love to ride one, but I was shopping for a bagger when I bought the 6. Don't know that there is a better bagger than this one. I didn't find one.

but am kinda hoping someone will in fact get off their butts and make go fast stuff for the 1800-- its no slouch but I do have a busa in my stable if i need to bend light

I guess that's why I won't ever get rid of my 2007 ZX-14 SE......the new Valk is nice, but until they make one with 170hp stock, I will keep my F6B and switch to the go-fast when I have an itch for speed! Plus, I've done 700 miles/day on the 14 and its not that bad.

Good! That's the only gripe about the bike. I commute 110 miles per day and this bike is a blast to ride. I'll add a windshield in the winter. The 1800 engine is absolutely wonderful.

I like your bike's color. I'm looking forward to seeing Valkyrie with windshield (or maybe some fairing?) and saddlebags. Maybe they'll come out with a removable trunk, too? I also wonder if Cobra pipes for F6B can be used on Valkyrie and actually look good. I bet Corbin will be the first one with new seat for it.

Congrats. It's growing on me. I like it but I can't stomach what they did with the radiator shrouds. Seems like they could have minimized the plastic in that area. Oh well.

When I picked up my F6 the dealer has a Valk on the show room. It was black and looked great. I sat on it and it felt comfortable. Totally different seat and feel than the F6. The only thing I didn't like were the plastic chrome side view mirrors, but those can be changed easily enough. If I had the extra cash this would be a great bike for around town cruising and street racing (not that I do that type of thing anymore).
