Under certain conditions that air bag could do some serious damage. Or it could save you from hitting the wind shield with your face.
Time will tell.

3-4 years ago, I read that nobody has died in a head on, riding a GW w/ a airbag....
I don't see how it can hurt anything in a crash.
People are always afraid of something new. More so, if don't understand it. Things like computers, fuel injection, tubeless & radial tires, seat belts, front wheel drive, automatic tranny, even safety glass & the list goes on.

Somewhere I read that only 3 Goldwing crashes were reported in the US involving the air-bag deploying. Might have been on the GW web-site??..Regards

Opas may very well be right. I was trying to remember, 7 comes to mind but it was less than 10. At my age, a case of CRS, seems to be normal.
