I just purchased a Demo 2016 F6B deluxe. The dealership had the backrest elevated some. They dont know where the part is to but the backrest back to the stock position. (See pictures below)
I ride 1 up 95 percent of the time and prefer the look of the stock backrest position.
Can someone tell me what part I need and possibly a part number from honda ?
Also, is it a pretty easy unbolt and replace item? What is involved?
Thank you

I have one that the bar is adjustable. Look close at rear bottom of backrest maybe a bolt or pin to let it slide back down. That is what mine does.

Ride one up? I'd just take it off.

Plus 1 on just taking off. If it were me I’d just remove it at the backrest mount and put 2 button head screws in the holes.

I would think that someone would be interested in swapping. A lot of guys bought the kit to raise their backrests. Any body out there ....?

The stock OEM backrest stay lists at under $12. I'd just order it from my local Honda dealer. Putting it back to stock is easy. To remove the back cover, just remove the 2 5mm hex bolts on the bottom and pop the top tabs straight back. Swap the bracket using existing bolts. The stock bracket is laying by itself on the right.

The extension replacement, is an easy job. It's also, easy to make one. just take off the stock backrest holder, measure the bolt pattern, and transfer that on a longer piece of steel, or aluminum. Put a 90 degree bend on the bottom, and paint your choice of color. The picture from member okf6b, shows the longer extension, that were available, maybe still are?? I have one. the tall works great, when strapping bags on the back. Otherwise,, I ride with the shorty. 10 minutes to switch them.

The problem with taking it off, on a white '16B, is that Honda didn't make the trim covers in that color.

If you want them black, instead of the same color as the bike, like the rest of the ones made by Honda.

That's a useful picture! If the OP wants, he could cut the top off the extension, drill 2 new holes and have an almost stock height. Or drill 4 holes if he wants it shorter yet.

That's a lot of work for $12. I'm a lazy SOB. :icon_lol:

I agree with you on that. Unfortunately, I am too impatient to wait. If I can just get it done in 30 minutes and be done, that's what I usually do. To make things worse, I would probably drag it out and make it an hour or more. :banghead:
