Just got my Tour DCT yesterday. Have added the Helibars risers, Pathfinder multifunction foglights,12 volt outlet, SXM antenna. So far I am vowing to leave the stereo alone...lol Anyone who has heard my F6B knows this vow may not last. 66256626

Very nice. I bet the stereo goes as soon as the shop manual arrives and the schematics are studied....

Well, can't take it with you. Never know when. Just lost a friend on Thursday at 50 years old. I'll be working for the forseeable future and a new Wing is waaayyy cheaper than a drug addiction. All good justifications.:icon_cool:

It's freaking awesome.

Got my first days ride on it today. In fact, loaned my F6B to my buddy who had to put his Harley in the shop yesterday. I can tell you that whole clutch and shifting thing is over rated."coffee"

Really , so far am elated. It's a different feel than my F6B for some obvious reasons . Some of that is due to the Corbin seat on my F6B which is firm but has me more in a pocket, which I like. The stock seat on the new Wing provided me no discomfort today, but it does feel more like sitting on the bike than "in the bike" like the Corbin on my B. I'm waiting to get a driver's backrest until I decide if the stock seat will be a keeper.

I got the Rivco highway pegs for the bike. The jury is still out on those. I really want to like them, and will try moving them back to see if that makes them better. I feel like my feet want to slide off them. I really think this is due to the Rivco pegs being pretty much at a 90 degree or close angle relationally to the cylinder heads.I'm used to the Ergo IIIs on my B that have larger pegs and are angled back more. We will see.

As far as the ride, the DCT is silky smooth. Seems pretty intuitive to how I am riding. I really never felt I wanted to shift it manually.
The walking forward and reverse functions are a really nice feature.
I also enjoy having all the tech merged together. I used the Navigation today only for identifying roads near me. Haven't actually used it for navigation yet. I've heard complaints that the stock sound system is sub par. I actually don't know where the complaints are coming from. As you know Steve, my F6B has a great all aftermarket sound system. I can hinestly say, I never really felt wanting today. I listened to SXM radio all day. When my buddy would pull up next to me on my B, it was obvious the difference in sound quality, but besides that, I could clearly hear the stereo at 75-80 mph.

I have a lot more to experience. I got to figure out how to pair my headset to the bike and there are surely some other features to experience.
A funny experience earlier today. I was rolling down the I state with a group to Bowling Green. I hadn't yet learned about the TPMS and I noticed what I thought was one of my tires being at 32.5 psi. Actually looked like 325, just figured I was having a hard time seeing the decimal. Now I was worried I was losing air pressure. As soon as I we got off the interstate, I went to the nearest gas station with an air pump ,then realized it was set for kpa. :icon_rolleyes: I changed it to psi.

That is one fine looking bike. If I ever switch, it will be for the Goldwing DCT.
Hope you enjoy your new toy for many miles to come.

Thank you, good sir!
I rode the DCT a few times at Daytona - was really impressed in Sport mode, but not quite as amused in the other 3.
But the shifting - yeah - damn. Silky smooth!
Ride in good health, my friend!
Cheers,
Steve

Black vs white is a available as a color option and you get 2 key fobs with the 19s only 1 with the 18s.

First Congratulations !And thye have them in black YAY ! Then thanx for the read out on the experience so far. I have this question,in Parking lot maneuvers or u-turns type moving, how do you control the bike? I am comparing using the clutch and rear brake method to do it to a bike that has no clutch to feather as you make the maneuver. Appreciate your answer...

With the DCT, I find slow maneuvers are easy peasy. Really I think this bike ,IMO, is better at slow speed maneuvers. I feel totally in control. I also think this bike's turn radius is a little tighter than my F6B. And then there is the forward and reverse walking speed . Never would've thought a feature would be so handy. I don't generally have too much issue manually maneuvering my F6B or my Valkyrie, but everyone knows sometimes this can be a chore with any tye of incline or just the mass of these bikes. With the forward and reverse walking speeds , this takes all the work out of it.

Hey, my friend. Congrats for buying that new Wing! Soooo jealous. :)
I've been reading your posts here and in the FB group, stalking you. lol

I'm very curious to know your opinion of the maneuvering and handling of the new Wing as compared to your F6B... especially in the sport mode.
By that I mean, this Wing, with the trunk... how does it handle and behave in the twisties vs the F6B? I know how much you love to run the curvy roads... do you feel the trunk is any sort of detriment to the performance? Did you consider the non-Tour option before you bought this model? Do you think you made the right decision?

i know... so many questions! Ha! But once-upon-a-time I had a full on Aspencade... and never really got comfortable with the bike, partly because of the higher center of gravity. Do you feel that at all with this reboot?

Thanks! Keep riding safe!

Hey brother, Patti and I miss you. Hope it's not too long before we can hang out again. The bike handles very nice and predictably. I think it feels a little better balanced at slow speeds. I think a lot of that is the front end and the further forward position of the engine. To be honest, I've had it on some twisty roads, but just not to the degree I've ridden the F6B yet. I really don't notice the weight of the trunk though and it hasn't taken me long to really appreciate the convenience of it. The new bike handles very nice in the twisties. Not sure about the weight differences between the 2, but with my extra audio equipment and air ride, I'm sure the new bike is probably lighter even with the trunk. I know they're somewhere around 100 lbs lighter than the previous full wings. I have quite a few $ in the F6B making it mine and it is set up perfectly for me. I am still working on that with the new bike. The stock seat on the new bike stinks and will be changed . Just trying to decide which way I want to go. Really think I'd like to try a RDL, but sending in the seat and waiting on it to come back is a drag. Will have to push it off until late fall or winter. Tempted to get a Corbin. That's what I have on the F6B and works pretty well for me.
