Just installed the black rack from Show Chrome.

I didn't realize it follows the slope of the rear cover, i.e slopes down to the back of the bike.
Personally for my rack bag I would like it horizontal, or parallel with the ground.

Has anybody also achieved this.
Can swapping the spacers (front to back) achieve the desired result.

Thanks in anticipation.

Yes you can swap spacers but you may need to go to hardware store and get different length spacer and longer bolts. That is what I did on my first 2013.

Same here. I got longer bolts and made different spacers on my lathe. As mentioned above, you should be able to find different spacers at a good hardware store too.

Any chance (Ghost Rider, Frye) you could measure the spacers required or perhaps provided a photo of your rack. Would be much appreciated.

Yep. Will probably be Tuesday or Wednesday though.

Way back in 2013, I fabricated my own rack! I made front and rear spacers from 7/8" dia. aluminum round stock! Front spacers were 1-1/8" long while the rear spacers were 1-7/8" long! My rack is perfectly level with the ground.

Its difficult to get exact measurements without disassembly so these are approximate. Front spacers are .74" long, rear are 1.02" long. With these spacers my rack still slopes to the rear slightly with me on the bike but very little. I've been working long hours (for an old guy) this week, will double check the measurements tomorrow evening when I'm less tired to make sure they are correct. 7207

Thanks Frye, what you have provided in the photo gives me a good indication.
I think if I temporary install I will be able to work out the spacer length.
What I may have to do is re-bend the brackets to suit the new angle as well.

I just swapped front to back and it’s perfect. Nothing new needed.

you can just add flat washers to the spacers till you get the proper level then measure the length and cut a spacer.
