I am looking for some information on the difference between a 2015 Deluxe and a 2016 Deluxe. Are there any upgrades or changes in the newer year model that would make you buy the 2016 over the 2015? Other than the one year mewer and less miles, they look the same, just need to know if there were significant changes. There is about $3,500 difference in price, I'd love to save the money and buy the 2015.

Agree, I do not believe there are any differences between the 15 and 16.

I think the only changes were in 2014, when they improved the paint, added cruise, and changed the 4th and 5th gearsets to deal with the very rare ghost shifting problem. Other than that colors were the only difference. What color is the 2015 you're looking at?

Looking at the flat grey and black. I really like that color.

No difference from Honda other than color.

Save some $ for customizing the scoot to fit you and your personal preferences.
Buy the 2015... IMHO;roughrider;

Black wasn’t available in 15 or 16. 15 was badged anniversary and offered in blue or matte grey. 16 was white or mattte grey I believe

Matte bullet metallic is the fastest F6B; because it's paint undergoes a thermodynamic transformation due to the extraordinary increased friction and pressure from the speed at which it accelerates.

Does anyone know if a 2016 Non-Deluxe model comes with self canceling turn signals? I know it doesn't come with heated grips or a center stand, just seeing what else it wouldn't have.

2016 Honda F6B Deluxe vs F6B model – What is the difference? The Deluxe model gives you a center-stand, self-cancelling turn signals, heated hand-grips and a passenger backrest.

I think that's right. Definitely a worthwhile addition.

I know a center stand and back rest can be added easy enough. But is it possible for heated grips and self canceling turn signals be added at a reasonable cost?

Reason I ask is I am looking at a 2016 Non-Deluxe with 4,400 miles in it and a factory Extended transferable warranty untill 2025. Seams like a good deal, but it's not a Deluxe. I'm sure I could live without the options, just wondering if they can be added.

Heated grips are easy to add, canceling signals not so easy.

I've got a standard so I have no "first hand insight" on auto cancelling turn indicators. The feedback I read here seemed to be riders could take'em or leave'em.

On the other had, Electronic Cruise Control is at the top of my list of great things to have on ANY F6B.

The heated grips can definitely be added. When I bought my 2013 I wanted the Deluxe, but the dealer only had Standards. So he took the $1,000 'Bonus Bucks' Honda was offering at the time, which had to be used on Hondaline accessories, and installed the backrest, center stand, and heated grips. He couldn't install the self cancelling turn signals so instead he added a 12 volt power port. That was just as well as I've found the self cancelling feature to be terrible. They cancel so fast in a straight line that you usually need to activate them again.

Question: I have a 14 Delux that didn't come w/ cruise as the newer ones did. I've heard the Honda factory ones are the best to have added. Any idea of what Honda would charge? Thx

I could do without the self cancelling turn signals too, for the very reason you stated. They can be dangerous when they turn off too early.

The B doesn’t have the correct wiring harness to just add factory cruise. At least that’s what I was told when I bought mine. I had asked for cruise to be added before I picked it up. It could be done but the dealer quoted around 3k to do it. That was on a 2013 so I’m assuming the 14 is the same.

The Mc Cruise is an option that you can use with the factory controls. You’re still looking at $1500-2k though. At that price and the cost of a used 16, a better option would be to just buy the 16 IMO. I did see a used Mc Cruise system with controls for $500 a couple weeks ago. I was too slow and should have just jumped on it.

What are some things that I need to address on a 2015 with 23,000 miles? Other than the obvious fluids and filter change. The bike looks great but I'm coming off years of riding harley touring bikes where I did all my own maintenance.

New to this bike and like my rides to be mechanical solid and up to date on scheduled services.

Make sure the brake recall was done.

That gets said a lot but it wasn’t needed on all bikes. My 13 didn’t fall under the recall. I questioned the dealer when I bought it and also followed up with mother Honda. A person just needs to enter his VIN on the Honda website to find out if it was needed. A 15 should have been done before it was sold if it was.

These were the models and years under the 15V-700 NHTSA recall:

HONDA/GL1800/2001-2010, 2012-2015
HONDA/GL1800A/2001-2005
HONDA/GL1800B/2013-2015akes and years

Problem Description:
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2001-2010 and 2012-2015 GL1800, 2001-2005 GL1800A
and 2013-2015 GL1800B motorcycles. The rear brakes of the affected motorcycles may drag after the brakes are released.

Consequence:
A rear brake that drags may increase the risk of a vehicle crash. Additionally, extended riding with the rear brake dragging could
generate enough heat to result in a fire.

Remedy:
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the secondary brake master cylinder and the rear brake master cylinder, and flush
the brake fluid, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Honda customer
service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is JV6. Note: This recall supercedes recall 14V-472.

Mine was a 2015 and had to be brought back for the new secondary master brake cylinder. Which the service department promptly eff'ed up, had to bring it back THREE effing times and they also ended up buying me a new rear brake caliper, after they stripped out the bleed port. Asshats.

Thank you all for the brake recall heads up. I entered the vin number on the power sports honda website and it came back as no active recalls. The first owner must have taken care of it.

If your interested in doing your own maintenance, you may want to take a look at the Goldwing videos available from AngelFire (http://www.angelridevideos.com/gl1800.html) or Cruiserman (https://www.cruisemansgarage.com/).

When the dealership did the break recall they were supposed to take a center punch and make a mark on the frame just to the left of the rear master cylinder. Mines hard to see but it’s there. When you get a chance pull the right front side cover. The one where you check your engine oil.
