Just installed the battery and was topping up the tires and saw this:
9109

I will order replacement tonight,

Terry

My guess, road debris, took a chunk out of the tire. That stinks, but glad you caught it. No idea if it would have lasted, but like you, those belts don't look good.

Looks nasty. Like Spencer says possible debris. You do any gravel roads? Or got any enemies? Sad to say but looks like the safe route is to replace.

:chatchairs: No decision reached on what caused this damage to your tire. I have an idea you ran over something that cut into your tire. Sometimes it can be hard to remember if you ran over something if you might have glanced away from the road just for a second. Of course I'm speaking from experience, just saying! happygirl

I once found a .45 ACP case in a tire on my truck that cut a perfect hole in the tread. Self induced no doubt. Looked very similar to what you are seeing.

That "cut" is awfully clean. Weird for road damage. I'm siding with FLsixB.

Around Indy road debris can include ammo shell casings.
