I'm not an avid tourer and when I do ~travel~, it's typically only 3-4 days, but, I'm hoping to extend that a bit,,

I have a standard,, no rack,,, so I've been looking for an economical way to increase luggage capacity.

I have a combination that just might work for someone needing 'just a little more' every now and then.

Bag is the Nelson-Rigg GWR-1200 Deluxe Rear Rack Pack:

Nothing fancy,,,, doesn't have 642 pockets for,,,,????

Comes w/4 straps. (I also added 2 small quick-release loops to my 6, but more on that later)

It doubt it could be used for a backrest, but if I decide I need one, I'll buy 'a real backrest',,,

I had to remove the nylon strap from the 'male half-buckle' (easy peasy) to slide the strap under the grab rails in the back.

The front straps go through my special super-secret high tech quick detach nylon loops,,,

Got a pair of 'em off flea-bay,,, Think they were $7-$8 shipped,,,,

Anywho,,,

Bag is semi-rigid,,, I wouldn't crank down on the tie-downs w/o having the bag 'reasonably stuffed full'. Probably a good idea to add some 'paint protection of your choice' between the bottom of the bag and the rails, as well as between the rear straps and rails,,,

Has a wide reflective strip across the back to help folks see ya,,,,

Now all I need is enough time/good weather to test it out! :motorcycle2:

That looks perfect. Let us know how it goes; I really like the reflective tape. If it were mine, I'd have Sparky in his dog luggage behind me and that bag behind Sparky with those reflector strips facing the cars chasing me. Can you give more info on the seller of the nylon straps? I think I need those...

Straps? The bag comes w/4 straps,,,

Or do yo mean more info on my special super-secret high tech quick detach nylon loops???? :077:

,,,You'll laugh once you know,,,

Available most anywhere, but avoid the 'safety release' and/or metal type connectors and opt for the 'plain' snap together kind,,,

I opted for the 3/8 wide so it would 'fit' between the grab handle and seat ~better~ (My thinking was a wider version may 'fold/ball up' more behind the grab rail than a narrower version, perhaps,,,)

The 3/8 version I purchased adjust from 6 - 10 inch loop,,,

Remember,,,

HIGH TECH!!!!
