Congrats!! I'm a bit past 42 years old, and picking up my bike today. I admit, some of my Harley-riding friends are giving me a hard time about buying an "old man's bike." Too bad they won't be able to see my big ol smile from behind me. :icon_biggrin:

...or standing at the side of the road beside their broken down bikes... :icon_wink:

But your original post says, "F6B Riders / Owners. Now that I have done the full day rental on one, I feel I can vote.

I'm 55, and for many, many years I always said things like, "Why don't they put the doors back on that thing and call it a car?"
I never understood the huge Gold Wing and other such two wheeled Winnebago's, but now that I'm 55, I can really see the appeal.
I thoroughly enjoyed my recent 12 hour ride on a Rental bike in Southern California (http://hondaf6b.com/showthread.php?9671-I-wanted-to-share-my-F6B-Rental-Experience).

I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I currently ride a 2003 Honda ST1100P, and of course now, I'm searching for the right bike and the right deal.

63 in November. Been riding over 50 years. Have had lots of bikes thru the years. Got my first Valkyrie in 2000 still have her. Had hoped the new Valkyrie would be more like the old with the new 1800 motor. That did not happen. Just did not like the looks of the new Valk. Love the Bee.:icon_biggrin:

I just turned 46 and this will be my first touring bike. I'll looking to spend more time riding in a comfortable position over a longer period. When I'm not riding my horse, I'll be riding this bike.

I'll be 58 tomorrow and tomorrow I will have been riding 48 years (still learning). I've had MANY scooters and do appreciate the B over my previous 2 GL1500s.

Hi JMartin, I'm also 55 and lived in The Bay Area for over 13 years and have been to Hollister many times, getting a seat at Corbin, going to bike rally, etc. Also been to Gilroy garlic fest, etc. I moved to Bend, Oregon in 2005 and love it here, except for the winters! Got over a foot of snow on the ground and tonight it is supposed to be -7 degrees. Yikes! Took delivery of my F6B today, got the dealer to bring it right to my garage. Wish I was still there, I'd be able to ride it. Anyway, glad to make your acquaintance. :shake2:

I am wondering if there is a correlation between rider age and seat size on these F6b's ?

I call it the complete evolution of a motorcyclist. Starting hunched over, feet tucked way up and back on the most aggressive sports bike I could afford. Overtime I found myself slowly sitting further upright, legs un-folding as a result. My last bike (which I still have), a Concours 1400 was very comfortable and what I thought was the peak of evolution, and then came the F6B. I am now what I consider fully evolved. This bike has such a neutral riding position I just don’t know what to think, but that’s ok, as long as I don’t start to De-evolutionize, aka Harley riding position. I am the proud 2%...

After my limited time on the FB6, it seems to kinda ride itself on a rail and you just direct it. I had a FJR for a short time with the AE tranny and that was the only thing better. Alas, it ate tires and was a pig moving around slow speed and I was afraid I might drop it. I really like the F6B but if Yammy ever made a ST out of the 900 triple that wieghed around 500lbs and had about a 30" seat with their AE tranny, I'd be ALL over that.

47YOA when I bought the FB6. I had to wait ill I was old enuff! :icon_razz:

I'm 52 and just bought my F6B. I've been riding over 40 years and to date I've owned approximately 40 motorcycles. Much like a previous poster my last tourer was a Concours 1400. It was a wonderful, powerful, great handling and trouble free bike. We spent almost 40,000 happy miles together. As I got older it seems I have also evolved into F6B rider and couldn't be any happier!

Purchased November of '15.

This is my fifth bike in riding over 11 seasons...and I LOVE IT!!! Had a Valkyrie Interstate for 8 seasons before the F6B and thought "How can they come up with a better bike than this?!?" Well Honda....ya did an awesome job with the F6B. Beautiful balance between looks, power, comfort and flickability on the twisties!!!

Just turned 68 last month bought my first F6B last week, and I'm loving it.
However my previous ride is still in the stable and probably will be for a long time yet.
A 1990 HD Ultra setup like a prototype Street Glide. Too much fun to lose and it feeds my inner teenager!

....so they say. At 64, I wake up some days and wonder if i died over night and they forgot to tell me. Some days I wake up and feel like I am in my 30's. The days that I have to look forward to riding my motorcycle are the days I feel the best. Due to circumstances I could not control, I have been away from bikes about 8 years. I plan to get a used or new F6B before I am 65. Since I no longer have to work 6 days a week, I plan on riding instead.

Just bought the F6B as my 75th birthday present! Nice bike, already dropped it once with 888 miles on it, pinned my heel with the peg, hobbling around on crutches until my heel reattaches, got a Madstad screen, Areo pegs and ready to head to the Grand Canyon/Highway 1, CA ( if they are still a part of the United States next spring) I wish I had gotten this beast when I was younger...maybe 70. Instead, I was putting 80K miles on my VTX 1800. That is also a great bike!

...or maybe just missed someone. Since a lady never tells her age, I'll just allude that I'll be sliding into my seventh decade next year and leave it at that.

Never mind that I have 49,000 miles on my 2013 Dragonbeast. Great summer road trip of 21 days camping and seeing nine states, and already planning for the next one.

Turned 78 in January of this year...Love the F6B so far but am currently thinking about the 2018 Indian Chieftain...Riding position is much better for me on the Indian and I kind of miss the old feeling of a V-twin motor...Don't ride very far/much these days and the Indian seems to hear me calling....Even with the Baggershield, Mustang seat, Cobra pipes, custom paint, etc...I might trade later this year....We'll see!!!!

The first Gold Wing I rode was my Dad's 1982. He bought it without a fairing, bags, or truck. I mounted the full Vetter System on it ,Fairing, bags, truck, etc. . I was the coolest kid cruzin' around on it in high school. He then picked up a 1994'ish Gold Wing Full Dresser. I recently picked up my first Gold Wing F6B this pas January. It was a brand new factory left over 2016. It's awesome to ride. Wish I did this years ago. No going back now.

I'll be 49 in September. I have a 2013 F6B and its my first GW. The previous owner only put 4900 miles on it and spent a ton on chrome, different seat with back rests, and a luggage rack. I had a Hurricane back 31 years ago so the F6B was like nothing I had ever ridden. I love it! I've had for about 4 months and put 2200 miles on it.

I'll be 67 next week. I got my Black 2013 Deluxe early this past August with 16000 miles on it. I have several other bikes including a 1975 Red GL1000 that I bought new and a 1981 GL1100 I bought used in 2010. When I got the F6B it had a car tire on the rear. Took almost 48 hours to get it off and it will never go back on. Tire mileage versus handling and safety just isn't worth it. The bike wouldn't turn a corner at low city speeds. Try and try and then it would climb up on the curve of the sidewall and suddenly turn. Not fun! Put a Bridgestone on it- now it's FUN!

Hitting 78 this year, that's not MPH!
Did a cross country last year from Cleveland, Oh to LA and back. Was planning to do Alaska this summer but resent feedback indicated that there is a lot of "off road" gravel pit type of riding which I do not want to do with my F6B. I will stick to the paved stuff and wind my way to Washington and back this year.

This thread was started in 2013. Has the chart been updated to reflect current ages of riders? Does it update automatically each year to reflect age of riders?
Just wondering how accurate it is in 2020.

The "poll" is simply a total of all votes since it was started. Voters must be member of the Forum and can only enter a "vote" once.

I'll turn 74 next month. I've always said that I would ride into my 70's but recently changed that to 80's. I first saw an F6B about two years ago and knew that I would eventually have one. I finally found exactly what I was looking for 385 miles away on E-bay. I made the offer that same day, got an acceptance and before the sun went down I had my motorcycle trailer hooked up and was on my way. After my first ride on the B I put my Valkyrie on Craigslist. I loved that Valkyrie and put over 40,000 miles on it, but this B is everything the Valkyrie was and more. With the addition of the Madstat windshield that I installed yesterday this bike is perfect.

It would be interesting to see how many have kept their F6B over the past 7 years and what age group they are in today today. I am 65 and soon will move into the 66-70 age group. Wondering if the percentages in age groups have changed much.

I turn 40 in a couple months, started riding about 9 years ago....in those 9 years I've put just under 200,000 miles on bikes and I hope to put on hundreds of thousands more in the coming years.

59. Bought my first bike in 2008. It was a Honda shadow aero 750. Put 30k on that bike, rode it back and forth across the country. I have t ridden it much n the last few years because it beat me up. So I moved up to a bigger more comfortable ride. If I’d have done those rides on this bike, it would have been a much nicer ride. Most of those rides were just endurance rides trying to hang that little 750 with wings riding 80. I remember flying up a mountainside hanging off the right side trying to get more out of the throttle. This new guy has all the throttle I need.

76. My first bike was a Honda 305 Superhawk in 1964. It was my only means of transportation for about 3 years. I believe I had it about a year before installing the 350 kit. My riding partners were a Harley Sportster and a Triumph Trophy. I had no trouble keeping up with both of them, plus I had reliability and didn't leak oil. I've had various bikes over the years, but really like the Honda Opposed engine and I've had a 1984 Goldwing and a Valkyrie. I've also had both a V45 and V65 Magna, both were sweet running beasts. But this F6B is the smoothest, sweetest most comfortable bike that I've owned.

I'll be 70 in 2023. Had a lot of bikes but the F6b is by far the best.
My Harley got great mileage. 150 Decibels to a drop of gas!
But I'm really liking my Burgman lately.
If I decide to sell the B this spring, I'll list it here first.
