View Full Version : Anyone try a Saddlemen Profiler Seat?

Personally, I like the stock seat once I cut an inch out of it (got rid of that bubble and made it more seat like).

Still, it looks like it belongs on a moped.

This Saddlemen seat is half the price of a Mustang. It does look slimmer. I don't know if it is lower, closer, or further back.

Does anyone else know anything about this seat?

I was unable to find anything on Saddlemens website about this seat.

Part number search led me here:

I called Saddlemen. They said the seat is not in production yet (~2 months?).

They also said that they tend to stick with the stock measurements (height and distance from the bars).

Oh well .....

Yeah, I wouldn't expect anything radically different from OEM in overall seating position,,, I believe they used gel in some of their seats,,, All things considered, it looks like an attractive price point for an aftermarket F6B seat,,,

Assuming that photo is correct it would appear to just be a gel version of the OEM seat. Yeah the price point is nice, but not if it is the same exact cut just with some gel thrown in it.

The driver "backrest" part definitely looks more narrow and rounded. The corners are cut off. The front looks more narrow too, but that is hard to tell.

We'll see if I am still in the market in 2 months, 4 months, 6 months ....

That is a nice looking seat….I have added a gel pad to many of my bikes and I like them…The only reason I looked for another seat was the fact that the stock seat pushed my forward or I was always pushing myself back…either way it had to go…looks like these folks have straighten up the slant some and that is good!!!

It looks like a couple of places have it in stock now. Has anyone here purchased one yet?

Comparing pics to my stocker, looks thicker from grabrails to the edge of the "upright" part of the seat. Non acceptable seating position for me, same thing I had with Utopia mid rider. As in pushing you towards the handlebars. That's just me. It looks like a great seat for a great price, and will be perfect for some. Like they say, "No two butts are the same."

Can't beat that price either.

They tout it as having "narrow styling"... is it actually narrower than OEM?

They claim a lower seat height too. Will be interesting to hear from someone that has actually tried the seat.

Here is the Saddlemen advertised info:

Saddlemen Profiler Seat Honda Goldwing F6B

The Profiler gives superior comfort in the ultimate low-profile, slammed seat for two.

Features:

Narrow styling, a thin profile and low riding height
Specially designed base allows the seat to drop down into the bike for the lowest riding position possible
Surprisingly comfortable pilot perch made with Saddlemen's famous combination of variable density foam and SaddleGel in the driver's position
Eases tailbone pressure and improving circulation for a smooth, comfortable ride

I may have to give this a shot. With the OEM seat, and my butt all the way back in the seat, I can barely NOT flat foot the bike at stoplights.

Will definitely be looking forward to a review. I have the Mustang seat now and really like it, but sometimes wish I was a little more forward. At first I didn't think the Mustang sat me back further, but after riding it for awhile I realize that I am definitely further back into the seat than the stock Honda seat.

:bump: Just checking again to see if anyone has actually tried the Saddlemen seat on their F6B?

Found him, here is his bike with the Saddleman on it. You can ask him how he likes it.

Can you explain a little more what "got rid of that bubble" is?

Seat looks to measure 1 1/2 inches deeper at the back but the width seems the same, from what I've measured, so not sure how this can be a narrower seat?

I bought one used and really like it better than the OEM and the Mustang. It seats you low like the Mustang but not as far back. Might be a skosh thinner up front and narrower under the pillion, but wider under the grab rails. This makes it difficult to tighten the rails down, but otherwise very comfortable. I would say it is in beteween the OEM and Mustang in firmness.

Anyone else ridden this seat might be able to tell if it is gel filled--seems to be that way and the vinyl cover is more Moto bike than scooter like the OEM seat cover.
