Traded the F6B on...

A new black murdered out full Wing... I just got back from a 1700 mile road trip to the mountains and while the F6B did fantastic when you put the miles on like I do you really start to miss some of the nicities of the full wing. To name a few:

Cruise control - the go cruise is ok on the flats but in the mountains it's pretty worthless lol
Lower vents for heat on your feet.
Adjustable windshield - it's not electric but still
Vent from the factory - saved me from buying yet another windshield
Better passenger comfort
Trunk
passenger floorboards
lighted controls - F6B didn't have that it's really nice at night
adjustable headlight
electric adjustable suspension
Heated seats
A trunk - Yes I missed that
No key needed to just open the saddlebags - a small item but the convenience is really nice
One click locks it all
2 helmet locks


Just a few things that on this last trip would have been really nice to have's. I would have went with a wing last time but I hated all the color schemes and didn't want all the chrome. The black one I just bought (level 1) is basically my F6B with a trunk and the extra nice to have's.

The Blacked out Wing is a sharp looker. I do think Honda took a little too many extras off the Wing to make an F6B.
If I had a passenger more often (wife rides her own) this bike would be in my sights but F6 does the job for me.

Looks like you made the right decision for your riding.

WS and vent - fixed that by getting a MadStad. very nice WS.
key to open trunk. I fixed that with these. I leave the SBs unlocked and the key will not fall out. The keys are too short to work in the ignition.

Thanks guys, at the end of the day they are still both Goldwings. I have to say I do like the F6B's seating setup a bit better. The gunfighter saddle is really nice, but I will give some props to the redesigned seat on the new wings, it's a lot more comfy then the old ones.

Totally. If I were going on long trips two-up, that blacked-out Wing would be the ticket for sure. Since I ride solo and have never had half the amenities the F6B has, I feel spoiled! There's nothing the full Wing has that I feel robbed of... except ABS (thanks again, Honda Americas! :moon:).

The cool thing is their the same bike, lop the trunk off and it's an F6B, well that and strip every cool gadget off lol. I noticed a few other little things like the Side Stand light, not on the F6B, no illuminated controls and even little stuff like the dust covers over the handlebar bolts aren't on the F6B either. They really did strip it down to get that 62lbs off. Funny thing is the Level 1 doesn't weigh much more, at least it feels as strong as my F6B did. I definitely wasn't going to buy one of the regular wings that were two toned and all chromed out, couldn't do it but the black on black and matte looks sick!

I like the regular Gold Wing and sat on one at the dealers several times. But my knees came too close to the fairing and controls. I guess my butt's too big and slid me forward.

i always had the same issue with the goldwing...but now you can buy a seat from saddleman or mustang or ultra...
looks very sharp for sure...

I LIKE black!! What Hwy Pegs? Yeah when a short trip is 600 miles!! some Honda LED fogs?? I run mine during the day for visibility!!

The Pegs are the standard ones from Kury just in black. They make lots of black stuff now which is cool.

Definitely going to do some fogs again, they make a world of difference. Just ordered the hand wings and the back rest, more to come for sure...
