My tall windshield squeaks, but the screws aren't loose. The nut behind the handlebars has a few screws loose.

actually that is more what i was talking about, the nuts themselves aren't loose
but the windsheild works it's way loose and makes a crackly-squeaking sound
i made some inserts to take up the space in the slots

I had to do the same with the tall (stock Goldwing) windshield.

I had a tall windshield installed by the dealer. The shorty was held on by 3 bolts. They used the same 3 bolts to install the tall one. There are actually 5 mounting holes. I put 2 more in and it is tight.

I have the 19" Baggershield. Originally mounted it with the 3 stock bolts. I had the same issue/problem. Added 2 more bolts/washers....no more squeak/windshield movement.

As other said add two more bolts , I had bolts with shoulders and added some thin plastic washers on both sides and it has no sqeeks and nice and tight .

My first attempt at Installing by Baggershield I did myself and about 2000 miles later I noticed it was very loose.
I had a guy install a few other things and asked him to check it out. He said that the middle bracket was missing. I didnt remember there being a middle bracket. He added a middle bracket and its been rock solid for the last 3000 miles.
When my shield was loose it ended up putting some minor scratches at the bottom so now I have a visible gauge if the shield starts to loosen again or fall like it did last time.

If you can use all five bolts that would help I believe. What I did with mine is, I got a large rubber washer and a fender washer to spread the load out, a little loctite and that's it. The fender washers help out, and I also made inserts to full the mounting slots like you mentioned
