Just picked up my F6B. I most recently had a VTX1800S, my first cruiser in decades of motorcycles, and I never really loved it. The F6B feels closer in many ways to my old ST1300.

Looking forward to leveraging all the knowledge and experience of all of you!!:039:

Did you find the VTX 1800 to be a bit cumbersome?

I suppose cumbersome was part of it. The ergos seemed to all be wrong for my muscle memory from 40 years of riding. I like to ride long and at a brisk pace. But unfortunately I found the VTX beat me up too much over the winter ravaged pavement we have here. And it seemed like I was always looking for a fuel station.

Finally that hot pipe close under my right thigh was a constant aggravation.

I thought it looked great, but just never loved to ride it. I respect all those who do love their VTX's or other twins it just wasn't for me.

Congrats on the F6. I too had a VTX 1800 for 5 years and it was a good bike, but totally different than the F6. I even tried turning my VTX into a tourer with saddlebags and windshield, but it wasn't even close to the comfort and wind protection of the F6. I also like the power delivery of the Flat 6 better than than the 1800 in the VTX and of course there is no comparison in handling. Enjoy!

Welcome and funny you should make the comparison. I've always felt that this thing was misnamed. It really does belong in the ST class, IMO. A Goldwing ST1800, what's wrong with that?

I mean, even the Screaming Eagle Road Glide was considered a Sport Tourer.

Ride safe...

I had the VTX 1300 and yes, that darn pipe right under the right thigh burned me up quite a few times.

My experience as well. Mine was a VTX 1800 F.
